image inside brushes

1. open the picture you want in the brush or pattern.
2. go to edit>define pattern.
this should come up:

3. name it and hit ok.
4. open a new document. (mine is 400x170 pixels)
5. make a new layer. (layer>new>layer)
6. open the layer palette (just press f7)
7. right click on layer 1 and go to blending options.
8. click the box called pattern overlay.
9. click the drop down arrow beside the pattern thumbnail and find your image.

10. click okay.
11. go to the brush tool and pick your brush.
mine are just some splatter brushes from outspoken-kate.com
12. start brushing to reveal your image.
13. go back to blending options and pattern overlay to allign the picture with the brush, and scale it to fit.
14. click okay, and you're done.
my result is this:

you guys can be more creative and add text, other brushes, and color filters if you want.
mine was just an example.

Dude I've been so mad at photoshop for such a long time for not having the ability to do this, because I recall doing it in Paintshop pro , it was one of my favorite things to do. lol So thanks a billion and one!
