One can call this layout off as a layout with brushes. I disagree. Most of the time, I'm anti-third party resource (asides from my own) and never make layouts using just brushes. In the case of Release, I gave it a shot though. Let the concept flow first and then the construction. I called this layout release; a release of emotions (translated lyrics from Dir En Grey's Mushi). A release of creativity (splatters) and a release of imagination (pen). I haven't touched brushes in forever, and found these stored away somewhere forgetting the downloaded sources. Contact me if these are yours/know where they were from.
