Hi! I've lurked around here and I keep reading mention of "Createblog Falling Down". In what way has it 'fallen down' and what time-line in the 'past' are people generally comparing it to?
People say that what Createblog has to offer is not in demand anymore. What do they mean exactly?
Thanks for responding:)

Activity on the boards have dropped considerably. Myspace layouts used to be the top resource here, and when myspace died CB had little to offer. Also the guy who owns the site upped and left us making it imposable to change to current trends.

Wow, I didn't know that. Thank you, Spambot. I also didn't know Myspace was 'dead', either. I suspected traffic had slowed up but I didn't know it was so bad. I guess now they're going to lose more people by changing to this 3.0 (without CSS or Html they say).
But Idk too much about it, just here-say :\

Before Myspace layouts, providing Xanga resources was the main purpose of this site. A few years ago Xanga shifted to providing its own 'themes' and restricting javascript use, so the focus changed to Myspace.
What are the hottest social/blog sites out there?
Facebook - no customisable layouts.
Tumblr - no official section for layouts.
The forums used to be buzzing with activity. There was a lot more interaction among members, and you definitely could not be top poster of the day with just 10 posts. ;)

Wow, so what's going to happen to us? It's almost like there is no real point in trying to create more layouts (at least for Myspace) because it looks like they may be providing their own soon. And as you said...the other sites aren't really popping/in need of layouts. Where does that leave 'us'?
I mean, these icons are fun and everything but is there a real need for them either? It doesn't seem like it really.
Thank you so much for responding:)

People may come here to look for resources. Think of it as an archive of all the great work once submitted to this site.
Createblog can still function as any other forum out there. Perhaps one day if the creator 'micron' would return things might change a bit.

Thanks Gelionie; I guess this 'is' an archive of sorts. But tell me, when did Mircon split? I guess the 'welcome' message from him when I joined CB was just someone else filling in and using his name? Interesting: D He jumped ship :O

He's been inactive since sometime in 2008. The PM you got is an automated message that all new members receive, regardless of Jusun's activity.

Actually his last sign in time was around one year ago (25 Sep 09).
How could a creator of one of (once) the largest blogging forums disappear completely off the internet!? Too bizarre for my comprehension.

Yeah, but it feels like he's been inactive for longer than that. Some of the other staff members have tried getting in touch with him through emails and text messages, and sometimes he'd log in, but he'd never make any of the changes we requested. Our copyright date still says 2007, if that gives you an idea of how helpful he's been. :/

Hi! I thought Tumblr had their own layout materials. I checked it out and it looked very good. But I was thinking about everything that's been said regarding this thing about the 'need' for what CB is offering. Some people here kept saying the site was at it's zenith around '07/'08? Something like that? Now that I think about it, my own site at Myspace had it's zenith around that time, too. It had a bit over 45 new friend requests per day but then it's like it STOPPED almost precipitously around '08. I don't really know why. Could be a number of reasons but the site was run the same way throughout. Who knows. Maybe there's a link between membership dropping at Myspace. Just speculating/rambling:}

Why would he leave the site like that? Createblog is a good site. Obviously we all feel that way; that's we are all here:) But it's hard for people to feel they need to care when the "creator" of all this ...doesn't seem to care.
I mean, I shouldn't say "he doesn't care" because I don't know what his situation is; he may have personal problems right now, or family problems which take precedence over CB, but for God's sake why didn't he leave word? xoxo

He probably fell in love and ran off:O Happens everyday (at least in movies). Ha ha.
And I don't mean any offense to CB because obviously I like it very much, but, this royal blue in the site layout is getting kinda boring-looking. You know? It's starting to take on a certain look of stagnation (in my opinion, anyway). It's too bad the site can't change from time to time. I guess like you said: the owner is the only person who can do this, huh?
So I guess royal blue it is...forever!

we used to have like 4 different choices until we "upgraded" to cB 4.5
we had like caffe, latte, mocha, frappuccino, extra black, columbian, green tea
idk i think like two of those actually existed
plus a nighttime layout which would be awesome right now
you can still access these colors in the cb profile system

I'm a Myspace music artist, I'm alright I don't have anything fancy on my page you can go to this link to check me out:

but anyways getting back to my point...
I have 1 idea to get this site back up and running. There are a lot of myspace music artists that need their profiles to look nice, clean, and to have their profiles looking badass. I think the seniors of CB should start looking towards new myspace artists for renewal of this site...

It's weird to think that just last year, we all were still in our hype of submitting Myspace layouts. I remember working on them all the time. Now, I haven't made one since June. I actually REALLY miss doing them. Making band layouts would be a really good idea. On the topic of submitting, is everyone dead? Graphics haven't been approved in over like two weeks. o_O I remember when approving went quick, you'd submit something and at least by the next day, your work had been reviewed, ah the good ol' days.

Well, yeah. I liked how the staff would give you a reason why. It allowed you to find what you are doing wrong. I would love to see this site back up and being popular again. But I think that the staff should at least try to make a dent in the submissions.
