also how do you get like a soft-ish effect on this scans like this ?

Here's a tutorial about the coloring http://getty.deviantart.com/art/Tutorial-f...hading-27544088. It uses the dodge tool but I don't think you have to use it.
I dunno about the softish effect on scanning. Maybe you could add a gaussian blur or something?
