This is why software patents are bullshit. Look over the patent that the company claims -- it's vague, it's bullshit, and Microsoft should easily be able to claim prior art on it anyway. Something like XML has been around for decades.

A Texas judge can ban microsoft from the entire country? Is this a legit article? Texas cant make decisions for the whole country.

Plus I really dont think Microsoft is going to stand victim to this, they will take it to supreme court if they have too, I mean, they ARE microsoft.

It's a judge for the eastern Texas district of the U.S. District Court, which is a federal court.

You'll probably be bitching when they come after OpenOffice (which, presumably, violates the same patent, since it also stores its documents as XML files).
