What diet would you suggest for me.
I am always hungry cause im going through puberty, I take vitamin pills every day.
I really just need to be told what to eat. I never really regulate it. i just like eating so I probably eat like 5, 30 calorie Popsicles a day. And I have about 4 meals.

Idk what im really asking so I need someone to take it somewhere and give me ideas.
Also I have no workout equipment and I constantly have urges where I want to do pull ups but I cant.

O and when I was about 8 years old I used to workout like crazy. Seriously. But I did the same stuff every day so my chest got really big but it's like not spread out. And now since Im pretty short it just looks like all these muscles cramped together on a small torso. So I dont want to bulk up! I want to slim down as much as possible and then once im totally slim Ill start working out properly.

You should still do resistance training when cutting weight. You're not going to get too muscular unless you eat like a barbarian.

Get a pull-up bar for $15. Pull-ups/chin-ups are one of the best lat exercises you can do, even when you have equipment.

You can start off with 6-8 healthy meals a day. This would include raw fish, beef, poultry, vegetables, salads, fruits, nuts, grains, meal replacement shakes, etc...

Ok none of those are gonna work for me. Im not gonna eat 6 meals a day. What do you do for cardio?
Tomates
Eat slowly, or slower than you usually do. You will feel full quicker.
brooklyneast05
i wouldn't suggest a "diet" besides just eating healthy. aren't you like 5'1 or something? you're probably about to start growing taller anyway since you're 13 or something and it won't even be a big deal anymore.

Reidar
A "diet" is simply how you eat. "Eating healthy" is prescribing a different diet.

Don't be a pussy. Your metabolism will be slow with infrequent eating. My 5'2, 105 lb. friend eats five meals a day with a full-time job and school, and she's lost 15 pounds. You don't have to be some hardcore fitness guru to get enough meals.

It's easy dood... when you first wake up, have a bowl of oatmeal or healthy cereal. In fact if you gotta be up and out of the house when you wake up, have a banana or two or take a small zip lock bag full of grapes or even have a meal replacement shake.

Then wait 2-3 hours and have another meal, then another 2-3 hours etc...

I preferably like to have big breakfast, lunch, and dinner when maintaining my size while the other meals or "snacks' are small... such as a granola bar, fruit, salad, nuts, meal replacement shake etc...

When I want to lose weight or "cut", I typically eat a large breakfast but the rest of my meals are small and I try to stay away from beef (even though there's nothin really wrong with it, I just feel that chicken and fish is a lot more healthier / leaner than beef)

When I bulk I add protein powder to my meal replacements, eat double the fruits, add more chicken or tuna to my salads, eat double the serving in nuts, etc...

I used to eat 6 meals but now I push 8 meals a day, this gives you plenty of energy through out the day because there's more increments of calories per day and also makes your metabolism work even harder thumbsup.gif

I won't lie though, there's been plenty of times that I've only eaten 5 times because I lose track of time or work simply gets in the way that I cannot shove some sort of calories down my throat.

But you sure the hell have to be rich mad.gif

Luckily some people take advantage of those "bulk" grocery stores, like Sam's Club, BJ's, Costco etc..
Reidar
Not even. He would just take a normal amount for a day and split it up.

Hm... well there's people who eat just one or even 2 meals a day, typically fast food lol

Otherwise, I totally agree.

Do you happen to do calorie macros?
Reidar
Nah, never have. I'm a powerlifter, not a bodybuilder.

Ah very nice (borat voice)
Maccabee
O man. I need to go on a diet when I get back. I ate so much in africa.

The 6 meal thing is a good idea cause it gets your metabolism going throughout the day as long as you spread them out and make sure they aren't the full traditional "meals." If your daily calorie intake is like 2000, then each meal should be roughly 400cal.. and while you're at it, you might as well watch out for your sodium and fat intake (no to sat/trans/polytrans/etc, yus to omega-3s!)
Reidar
No, saturated fats are good and have been absurdly maligned by mainstream fallacies. They lower Lp(a) and provide necessary stiffness for our cells. High fat diets have also been shown to promote lipolytic (fat burning) processes.

The only "bad" fat is trans (hydrogenated oils), save for unique medical circumstances.

moar steak for me!
DoubleJ
Reidar I have been taking this mrp shake for a few days now and it is disgusting but it does fill me up. I also started doing that exercise thing that you suggested for me.

i've been on p90x , and i've mantain a nice healthy diet and still lost 9lbs in two weeks.
DoubleJ
How much does it cost sir? Does it really work?
Tung
yeah alot of my friends is on p90x and it's working for them. you can bootleg the workout video off torrent or something. it gives you instructions of what to eat, and gives you detailed day by day plans of what exercise regiment you should do, etc..like 30 min of side pushups for day 2, yadda yadda. it's really intense and everyone i know who's follow it, it's worked for them
DoubleJ
imma dl it. You can play it on the 360 no?
livwho
First off, you're eating because you're bored. You're bored because you spend 912151 hours on the computer doing nothing. I suggest you figure out some sort of schedule that will keep you busy and away from the fridge. I'm lucky to have a pool to swim in every evening and dog to walk.

At most, I eat one real meal a day because I keep myself busy. Try it.
sixfive
^bad idea and obviously it doesn't work

If you're not eating, your body's running out of fuel. I know there are better diets than mine, but right now I'm eating Breakfast Lunch and Dinner with a snack in between each. Lunch is typically my largest meal, and in between breakfast (usually oatmeal or bagel w/ peanut butter), I eat peanut butter crackers, plain bagels, yogurt, etc.
Reidar
P90X sucks ass. The nutritional guidelines entail carb cycling without an increase in fat to compensate for the lack of glycogen you'll have in your system (the notion that fat actually serves such a role is suspect in itself, but it's at least something over nothing at all - low fat diets fail for entirely different reasons, of course), and there are barely any, if any at all, posterior chain movements.

Sit-ups also suck ass. They contraindicate your vertebrae and don't isolate your abdominals.

"Tone" is the opposite of flat. Bulking will make you more toned.

"The modern fitness industry's concept of 'toning' muscles is specious - it might sound cool, but it lacks any tangible and definable meaning. The term 'muscle tone' or tonus describes an electrophysiological phenomenon, a measure of ionic flow across muscle cell membranes. It can be thought of as the muscle's readiness to do anaerobic work. Most exercise programs that claim to improve muscle tone are actually lower-intensity hypertrophy programs and are only moderately effective for improving muscle tone. If 'tone' is the goal, strength is the method." -Practical Programming, pg. 60
