I followed the tutorials offered here on making a new xanga layout but I'm having problems aligning my two divs (I think that's what they are; one for the navigation, the other for the main blog) to my image.

I've looked through the forums for some solutions (adjusting margins from top to bottom, changing alignment etc.) but nothing's worked for me so far. I appreciate any help at all! Thanks!

Do you mean you're having issues getting stuff aligned in both IE and FF, or are you just having issues aligning the divs in either browser?

If it's the former, try reading this tutorial.

If it's the latter...... um, it's really just a matter of messing with the margin numbers and guessing and checking.

Hi, thanks for the tutorial link, I finally managed to get the divs aligned!

But is there a reason why IE displays the fonts differently than FF? On IE, it seems scratchier looking and not as clean. Is there any way to fix that?

Also, the code for posting a picture is <img src="url> right? For some reason my picture doesn't show up.

Thanks again for any help.

^It's actually <img src="PICTURE URL">. You forgot a quotation mark. wink.gif

If you're using IE7, it automatically smooths the text for you. To fix it.... hmm, it was mentioned somewhere.

Open IE7 > Tools > Options > Advanced tab > Multimedia > uncheck "Always use ClearType for HTML."
