Here is what AOL is trying to Market...
A $300 system running Windows XP Home on a 2GHz Intel Celeron. A 17-inch monitor and a Lexmark inkjet printer are included, as is an AOL-branded edition of Sun's StarOffice suite.
!!! Buyers [B]must[B] also sign up for a 12-month AOL membership at $23.90 a month !!!
The computer also comes with "AOL DESKTOP" which is basically a giant memory munching program that lets you use AOL without turning on AOL. (WHY?!)
The whole thing seems a bit stupid especially the "AOL DESKTOP" which it does not look like you can disable so the user of the PC is locked into paying for and having this weird program running on their desktop at all times.

Opinions on this odd little idea by AOL?
