Well i looked around all the help pages, i couldn't find anything.
Basically i am creating a LiveJournal icon page with LiveJournal and i am wanting to do something simular to...hmm

As in, how each post looks. It only shows a sample post then you click a link and there is a much longer entry. How can i do this so it could look on the home.

That's called an lj-cut.

When you're making an entry in livejournal, you need to put <lj-cut text="this is a link to the rest"> before the rest of the text you want "behind the cut." To end it you need </lj-cut>.
