Have you ever felt that either yours or his/ or her's parents were getting in the way of your relationship? if so how did you take it? (i looked for this topic didnt see it)

Mine. Definately mine. My parents hate my boyfriend because he's white. It makes things hard, but we get by.

I could second that. My boyfriend is white as well. First off, my parents wanted me to start dating when I started college. Second, they only wanted me to date within my ethnicity.

Well, definitely my parents. Even thought he is also Chinese, they just don't like him; they think that he's distracting me from my work and that he makes me lie to them and stuff. Bleh, they didn't have this problem with my ex, who was white.

With me its jus having a g/f period. They think that it might make my grades fall. But i just still do it. Plus my mom thinks that I might end up with a baby momma before my 18th birthday so its jus a trust issue.

My mom doesn't want me with any guy who is capable of driving or that she doesn't know. It makes things dificult, but I still go out with whoever i want, and she just gets over it.

YES. Especially in my brother's relationships. Well. Even though it's not really my business or anything, it seriously pisses me off.

YES, my mom wont let me and my bf have any alone time to solve our problems, and she would get mad at us for arguing, and making it worse by not letting us see each other. I mean, every relationship has problems, right? and hers has ALOT and she puts us (me and my sisters) through alot with her hopeless bf, and i guess its just not fair for her to get mad that WE'RE trying to solve ours. and we never argue in front of anyone, so its not like we're hurting everyone else too. i dont know. 0H MOTHERS! theyre so complicated!

Well my boyfriend's dad and stepmom HATE me. I don't know why but they do.. I've never met his mom, but if I do, I hope she likes me. Anyways, they don't actually know that we are in a relationship but if they did I'm sure it wouldn't work out for much longer, which really sucks.

Not really. My parents want me to get a boyfriend. I have so many guys calling me like everyday they'd rather jusst prefer one calling..(lol)..So I really haven't been in yur situation before...

I strongly believe that my parents were a big part of my last breakup. If they hadn't been so adamant about making us have chaperoned group dates, a redundant and simply unnecessary practice, he wouldn't have broken up with me in the first place.

Sometimes I wish my parents would just stay out of my business and stop trying to know every little thing about my life.

My boyfriend's parents gets in the way...They made a rule that neither of us can chill at a house which we dont listen to cause he still comes ova...his dad dont like his *little boy* growing up...they kinda take him away from me cause they make some excuse to always have him around them then me...really annoying

My parents just want my happiness, my parents did several times. It was because they were looking out for my best interests...greatest thing they've ever done for me, prevented me from losing it.

My parents don't mind ethnicities, I haven't dated an asian guy yet. My mom knows me though, I'm not all too serious on the whole "I love you && wanna get married" to you thing when I'm still a kiddy. Boys are overrated.
