I have been thinking about this. With all of the layout sections (myspace, xanga, etc.) We have a showcase. We have a digital art forum,which is like a showcase. So with that an idea happened, why don't we have a section where you can submit a peice of digital art, for other people to use. As a wallpaper, or icon, or whatever else. I don't nessicarilly think it could be used towards the offical designer status, unless you use every 3 peices count as one layout, etc. I don't know how good of an idea this is, but I just thought I'd throw it out there.

Or you could specify what is what. Like, make an icon section, a signature section. Then with the normal categories as subcategories (abtract, anime/comic, etc.)

So it would be.

-icons
-abstract
-anime/comic
-etc.

signatures-
-etc

wallpaper-
-etc.

Then any other categories.

.... But.... But.... Credit. I love the idea, it's just that avatars and such usually don't have credit tags on them and many image sources, anime at least, ask for credit. So... I would suggest a credit section in addition to a submission section unless you want webmasters complaining. And a restricted image source list. =S Certain CG sites don't allow for use of their images unless you ask for permission... -shrug-

^^That is a good idea. List the credits and the link to it. And a rule saying that you can't use copyrighted pictures..but isn't there a rule for that in general, like for layouts too?

I like that idea, gives me something to do when I am bored. Plus, I have been having photoshop-block for a while, it might inspire me or something.

Hell yeah. Since, something wrong with my PS, i can use Ms Paint to edit the image.

Yeah, I guess. I don't know if people would like that though.. but if I submitted avatars, I wouldn't want some random stranger taking them and using it on their stupid avatar site. That always happens.

Maybe they can make that forum non right-clickable and gives a link for you to be able to change your avatar. Like iconator.com for AIM. And credits can go into your sig or member title? ...

I don't how well it would go if the advatars were only for cb. Everyone could pick all of the same, it'd be chaos. Unless we decided not to open it up untill we had 150 advatars, or something like that.

About the jocking, that could always happen. Even with the layouts, it's not that hard to remove the credits, even on the pictures.

We could also do wallpapers too. Not many sites make those (unless you look on deivantart), so there would be less chance of jocking and stealing there.

i really like the whole idea, especially as a concept for mor eofcial privaleges

I like the idea of having only offical members using it, but is there a way of saying you have to be an official member and have 200 posts? If you noticed, a lot of newbies make a bout 75 posts tops, after they become an offical member since they alreday have the benefits.

There would be a less chance of jocking.

Also, to protect screenshot taking, we could make the page password protected, or like the xanga tracker sign in is.

for copyrights,credits and all those,for every piece of picture/text or any other materials that are under copyright,you need WRITEN PERMISION!

right click disable is not a good idea,you can just use a java script who doesnt show the real link and only the file name and extension like CB.jpg or whateva`

and about screenshots problem,only 1 way, put up on your images a big © sign with lower opacity/transparency but visible,and they wont bother too much to change all the picture just to have that one, or this can be made as a php script,on CB,so that script automaticly puts up on all images that big © sign. this way is used for most of the Royality Free Stock Photos Company's,who are selling over the net,only the samples ;-)

Which is exactly the same as using them for the layouts...you take images from sites that say you can use them for free. You don't use copywrited work.



We got past that part already. WE figure that if you are an offical member with x amount of posts, you wouldn't really go that far to steal them and claim them as their own.

All of these problems are also apparant for the layouts.

another way,to avoid taking ScreenShots,it can be made an ActivX Plugin for Browser,who if it is installed,it can detect when the button "Print Screen" is pushed and the plugin automaticly closes the browser (if its possible) or just the site
PS:only if you install that ActivX,you can access the website.

Actually you can't protect the Copyright 100% over the net,there are 2394923499 ways how to steal something,so IF THEY REALLY WANT SOMETHING and they have BASIC KNOWLEDGE about this Internet or even if they are really Advanced users,they can steal whateva they want and you can't do anything about`it.
And if they already very Advanced Users they wont bother to steal anything,like pix or text or whatever,only the ideea its enuff for them,how did you put the parts on the website,what color,how the text is aranged or whatever they think is good, like a main website ideea,creation.
