I know there's many different different kinds of anime like futuristic ones, romantic ones, the ones more aimed for kids and etc etc

But what about dark-themed ones?

The darkest so far that I've probably seen is "X" (well I saw the movie). There are probably more and I need to see more but I would love it ifyou guys gave your input on what's some good dark ones out there that you like or just have seen.

I know a gothic/dark manga...I think it's called Alichino. Its dark in my opinion..

The other day there was this weird anime movie on called Blood the last vampire. It was kinda dark I suppose.. but otherwise, no, I don't really watch dark anime.

I've seen that. Movie is short. its okay though,

^ Wouldn't really put Blood the Last vampire under dark.. It was just ok -__-. Truthfully I haven't watched a real dark anime yet... Maybe the first episode of Boogey pop phantom had like 1 or 2 dark scenes but thats about it as far as I know... Anime can do tragedy and all but dark scenes are hard for it to do -__-

Elfen Lied was gory. And dark. I still maintain that Black Jack is darker. And Ninja Scroll seems very dark to me... As for manga... Meh. Othello is dark-ish. So was, uhm, that one about the kids who wanted to blow up their school.
It also depends on your definition of "dark".

Kinda hard to explain what I meant by "dark" I was just thinking overall like the storyline, the content, the cartooning ... just things that are out of the ordinary or things that make things taboo. That's why I like Angel Sanctuary because I kinda like the whole twist on heaven and hell since religion can be so contraversial but the images are still pretty "dark"

Another is Hokuto No Ken (Fist of the North Star) Bloodshed..violence..about a guy and death follows him everywhere...its good. ..More action than dark..I think..iono

There are many dark animes I watched but I wouldn't put them up because sometimes one of their episodes is about being "saved".

AHHHH! That is one freaky movie. I didn't see it, but from everywhere I've heard and read they were like "There's so much sex and gore!"

I thought Wolf's Rain was pretty dark.. Happens to be my favorite anime as well.
