a psd is a photoshop format image. you can get psds at some psd sites . psds are already cutt out images.

PSD -
(in the graphic sense) An image of something with he background removed for easy use in graphics and such. Very similar to a Transparent PNG.
(in the literal sense) A type of file used in Photoshop that allows you to reopen your work and keep working on it. Useful for longer projects like vexels.
