Okay basically I just finished (well partially anyways) my first ever livejournal skin.

And here it is...

However there are a few things I'd like to tweak.

Firstly...

The post boxes. How would I go about getting soft (rounded) corners? Is there anyway to do this without having to go via adding images to mask off the edges?

Secondly...

I've deliberately left a space above the head of the vexel made from Aaron Kratens artwork. I'm looking to insert another image I've made here incorporating links to my myspace profile/website/band website and other such things. I'm assuming this has to be done with mapping right?

Last...

Is it only possible to incorporate your livejournal into a website with a paid account? Or via having it as your main page for your website?

Anyways. I'm pretty new to this whole coding thing. Excuse my ignorance. But any help/criticism is welcomed!

#1 - The only way to create a rounded corner, is by using images.
The following is the coding you would have to use:

#2 - You would in fact have to create an image map, however, it would have to be created under "LASTN_WEBSITE", and you'll have to use div layering to position it to where you wanted it so show up.

#3 - If you have a paid account, you can embed your livejournal.

How do I forward my domain to my LiveJournal?
This feature is available to members with Paid or Permanent Accounts, but requires set-up first.

While logged in, go to http://www.livejournal.com/modify.bml and scroll down until you see "Domain Aliasing." Enter your domain name in the text box. For this to work, you'll need to arrange to have your domain name's DNS point to LiveJournal's IP address, which is 66.150.15.150. If you do not have the ability to change this yourself, your web hosting company should be able to make this change for you.

LiveJournal does not provide DNS services. You will need to obtain DNS services from your web hosting company or your domain registrar. Setting up your domain's DNS typically contains two parts. First, you must specify two DNS servers (an "NS record") and then you must specify what IP address these point at (an "A record"). Different domain registrars will provide you with different levels of control over these options. Typically, you will not need to change the NS record at all, but need to change the A record as explained above.

Since LiveJournal does not offer a DNS service, it is not possible to use this feature if your domain registrar only allows you to control your NS records, or does not allow you access to DNS records at all. If you are unsure of how to make the required changes or do not know if your registrar offers you the ability, you will need to contact them, explaining that you wish to have your domain's A record point to 66.150.15.150.

If you are familiar with DNS and how it works, you could also set up a CNAME record pointing to livejournal.com, rather than an A record pointing to 66.150.15.150.

If you do not currently have a domain registered, Domain Monger (http://www.domainmonger.com/) allows you to register domains fairly inexpensively. If you use Domain Monger, you will be supporting LiveJournal, as LiveJournal receives a small referral fee from Domain Monger. However, LiveJournal does not require that Domain Monger be used. Instructions for setting up a domain registered with Domain Monger are below. If you use a different site to register your domain, their technical support staff should be able to set up the alias for you.

1. Go to: http://www.domainmonger.com/login_manage.shtml

2. Enter domain name, user name, and password. Click "Manage Domain" button.

3. Click "DNS Plus" link (In the navigation bar labeled "Manage Your Domain").

4. Click "IP Addresses" link.

5. Enter the IP Address "66.150.15.150" in the box labeled "Numeric IP" and click the "Add New IP Address link". (Leave box labeled "Name" blank.)

6. Click "Yes" to "Both 'yourdomain.com' and 'www.yourdomain.com' will have the IP 66.150.15.150"

Much appreciated. I don't know how you keep your tolerance up with all these utterly basic questions! But as I say. Appreciated!

Take care

It's not so bad; The only time I really can't tolerate it, is when people demand for what they need, without even searching for it.

Any other help you may need, feel free to either contact me personally, or post here again. :)

By the way, I'm going to add you as a myspace friend; I was browsing it after I looked at your lj.
