My cousin just recently bought a psp, her system says she on version 1.51, and she was wondering if she doesnt have a connection setup can it still update if the 2.00 version comes out? She doesnt have a wireless router thats why, she will be getting one soon. But can she avoid the update 2.00 by not having a connection?

can someone help her out?

she wants to avoid updating to 2.0? if she doesnt want 2.0, then she shouldnt go into network update :D

Yes, she can download the 2.0 update without having a connection.
She can either download it by connecting the PSP to the computer via a USB cable or download it using a UMD which features the 2.0 firmware.

ROFL, no i do not live in japan. version 2.0 has been out on the net since the first day it was released. jap version works for american version psp as well

Yes the Japanese version works on the US PSP but it will void your warranty.

I dont think she can update her PSP to be 2.00. She needs the wireless internet to do that.

(Yeah...2.0 for North America was suppose to come out August 12th which is today, but it got delayed and they said it will come out the week of August 15th. I wouldnt want to get the JP version because it will give me bugs in the US PSPs. The 2.0 Firmware for US will be better for the US PSPs.)
