Self-explanatory. I was just wondering because this question popped up in my head and I had a tough time answering it, so I wanted to know what you guys thought.

Now that I think about it, I'd rather be born blind because you're at the best you can be your whole life. If that made any sense.

so becoming blind i would still have a picture of what the world looked like around me. did that make any sense?lol

but i think i would be more devestated if i did suddenly become blind because i DID know what the world looked like. and i would miss that so i dont know.

This is kind of like the proverbial "better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all".

I would rather have seen the world and lose sight of it than to have never seen it at all.

i'd rather become blind, so i won't be totally lost with what things look like . . and things like that. if i was born blind, i'd have to use my imagination . . but if i became blind, i'd already know what most things look like

I agree with Fae. I would rather have lost it, but at least gotten to see the world at all. Imagine if you were born blind, you wouldn't really know what people looked like.. or what colors were.. at least you'd have a better udnerstanding of things if you had lost your sight.

Being born blind is, IMO, better than just becoming blind because you've already gotten use to the blindness, and you're already used to not seeing, so.

Born Blind because than I wouldn't know that I was missing so many things to see. And plus I would be accostmed to it a lot better.

wow that's a hard question. i actually want to be it NEITHER of them. but since you only gived us 2 choices *gulp*... um... become blind. because it wouldnt be fair if you see what's going on our world...and how it looks like. it's like being leftout.

I'd rather become blind.. because I mean-- if you were born blind you'd never ever be able to see what other things look like.. I would hate that, at least if I became blind I would know what things looked like & stuff.. But I wouldn't want to be EITHER!

become blind. i'd want to know at least the beauty of the sky, the color of my eyes, the faces of the people around me see the world before i could never see it again.

i would rather become blind... i dunno never seeing nothing, never knowing who your parents where... it kind would be mind bothering... yet i would be like crazy if from one day to another i became blind... its kinda a hard chose

I guess I disagree . I'd rather to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all, but then, I'd rather never see the world than to lose sight of it. Love is like a feeling, something that could stay inside. In my opinion, it is stronger than an image.

Besides...there's more imagination if you have always been blind. A leaf could look like something wonderful; money is just a piece of paper.

this is kinda tough because i would rather be born blind so that i wouldnt need to ajust to being blind later in life.. like getting braille and stuff because i'd already be used to it.

btw.. i was techincally born legally blind- i ahve glaucoma.. so i kinda have a feel because im not totally blind.. i can see with my thick glasses lol im just legally blind

I would rather become blind because then I could actually have SEEN the world. And plus, I would want to see how I would look like, too. If I was born blind, I could be really pretty and not know it.

I understand your preference. I was thinking, however, that if I had a child, I would like to see my baby even for one moment than never to know what my child looked like. To see if his/her nose is like mine or his/her father... etc. That is my preference. I rather see my child's first steps than to hear it described from someone else... etc.

I would rather know what a leaf looks like than to live my life wondering, imagining but unsure of what it looks like. I would want to know what color is a sunset is and what color is the ocean. I would just feel more secure knowing rather than guessing.

But that's just me and my own insecurities

I don't have a clue which I would want to be. I would like to see what's out there but I wouldn't want to see the world and then lose the vision. That would really suck being blind.

I voted become blind, even though I'm not sure. Well, I would like to see my family's face at least once, right?? But then if I was born blind, I wouldn't miss it. But then they are both bad, so...but then once must be better then the other? Oh, this is so confusing.

Become blind, because that way I'll know what things look like. Like my mother, and my father, I think it would jsut be nicer. Plus I think it would be easier to comunicate with someone, like if someone said "that flower is a beautiful sshade of red" at least you'd have soem idea what they were talking about. Without seeing ever once in your life you woudn't understand colors or anything I'd personally like to know, even if it may make me feel sad because I wished I could see them still....I jsut like knowing.

i think id rather be born blind... cause if all of a sudden i became blind, its like im missing out... and the pain is harder to bear cause you know you wont be able to see whoever you loved again.
