girls who are "preps" are usually more open and appreciate guys who are more active and fun-loving.

so if he's the shy, stay-at-home type of guy--she might not find interest in him.

Well we gotta know more than he wants a prep to like him. C'mon now, give us some details. Is he shy? Do the two talk? Does he play any sport? Does she? Whats his friends like? hers? comon mano.

if you call him a nerd, i'm guessing he might have... quirks. that girl might find him annoying if that's all she sees at the beginning (first impressions are important lots of the time). help him find out what they have in common first and go from there
