The violence commited by teens wether school or gang related has raised tremendously in the south. Nothing seems to be helping teens fight over nothing and they kill each other and I just want to know what you think. I live in atlanta. Although we have wonderful artist that are coming out of Atlantas teen violence is very high and no matter what you tell kids nothing happens tell me what you think and tell me how vilents affect your city

I live in Atlanta...sort of. There's not that much teen violence. Every city has it's own sort of problems with teen violencce, anyway.

I think it's fine. Let the kids have a little adventure in their lives, get arrested and get their asses kicked in prison. Get better policemen that don't sit around on their asses all day, so people don't have to duck under the windows every night to avoid gunfire. Uhh.. What's this debate about? Whether violence should be permitted or what?

Thats why parent should lecture about violent very early before kids hit puberty. Pubery is the age when people became more violent starts, mood swing problems, and etc.
Its best to teach kids before they hit puberty. after puperty, its hard to break down bad new habits because you liked it.
There is alot more causes and effects about puberty. IMP.

^Me too..I live by Atlanta[Marietta].
I agree with what you said. Every place has it's bad parts. It's not just in the south.
That's where my cousin Kim lives

Cool.
But I think compared to violence in the South, I don't think it's as bad as it is here. I live 5 miles away from Compton. Gun shots are heard all the time at school. I have friends that go to Comtpon schools. They say a guy is expelled at least once every 5 months or less.
I don't live in the South, but I can imagine what kind of violence goes on. But it's sort of the parent's fault for not properly teaching kids about how bad violence is ( unless they come from abusive backgrounds)
..Okay I'm just rambling on here. What's there to debate about? Or are we just expressing our thoughts?

It's because teens today in the South don't have the same wholesome entertainment opportunities they used to have. The decline of the good old cotton-pickin' slave-whuppin' culture has left kids with lots of idle time, which naturally leads to violence.

.. I dont even live in the US
Canada * :) and violence is bad here in Toronto too, I think there needs to be more gun control. Theres like the majority of teens out there with guns, and its even accessable over the internet and sent from the US in small parts one at a time & all these tricks used. gah. smart teens.

its not just the south. kids think they are "all that" and a bag of potato chips and get in fights with their "rivals" it has nothing to do with the community around them, they are just flat out stupid.

any large concentrations of people also include large concentrations of bad people.
larger the town/city is, you go from just a bad person to a bad family to a bad street to a bad neighborhood.

Teen violence is mainly caused by parents. When parents don't take good care of there children, they feel neglected and feel the need to look for different types of attention, hence violence. In order to stop teen violence we have to get to the root, which is advising parents to speak to their children about gang and violence, they'll listen, even though it doesn't look like it...

It's not only the south to tell the truth but back to topic....
I think it's really immature to be killing everyone. If parents can't get through their heads then they need help. Personally from experience I don't like talking to shrinks so someone who doesn't act like a shrink could probably help them. I mean why do they even kill each other? Is it because of a mere insult? That's pretty pathetic. If there are other reasons please tell me. Even though it won't change a thing. Now I stated my thougnt, I think its pretty PATHETIC. When can they learn their lesson? When someone close dies? Or will they seek revenge? What will they do once they get their power? They should stop thinking so selfishly and think about what can happen to the future because of their foolishness.

I think that in every *city* there will be the good parts of town and the bad parts of town. it's not just "violence happens in the south" !!!

I had the opportunity to live in both the north and the south...i was born on the west coast and went back to visit, but spent the majority of my life in Pennsylvania. We had the normal violence there, but it was mostly small-time rebellious stuff, nothing personal. When i moved down to Texas i got threats from day one because i was a "yankee", not just to get my ass kicked but i also got a few death threats, and i even got jumped...me and my little brother were victims of the violence, and i think it was based mostly on prejudice from where i was from. But i agree, ive definitely seen more violence in Texas than Pennsylvania. It stems from the fact that people just wont let things go. I dont want to start anything on a race term, but ive had quite a few black people threaten me because i was "a slave owner" and they keep bitchin about slavery....i didnt own slaves, my parents, grandparents, great grandparents and even great-great-grandparents didnt own slaves, and they werent slaves themselves, neither were the past four generations of their family but they dont let it go. The Muslims and Jews are still fighting because of stuff that happened thousands of years ago-nobody lets anything go. Its just a part of life and you'll have to deal with it...just dont feed into the stereotype and physically fight back....
