It's our freshman-to-be summer reading assignment and I just want to know what people think of it. I've only read about 80 pages, does it get any better?

I know, it's getting redundant that no one's read this book, but I heard it's really good. And it wouldn't be really good if it was boring, would it? Just keep reading. The first few chapters of a few books I've read were horrible, but the book turned out to be awesome. Sorry if I wasn't helping.

I've read the book and I liked it. As you read though, you can see the that's it's really ironic towards the ending. It's really good and the ending isn't disappointing either. I agree that the beginning is slow, but it has to go through all that to make sense in the end.

yupp, a lot more stuff does happen. i recommend that you read it along with sparknotes as a guide, in order to pick up on some of the symbolism and themes. however, make sure not to read ahead with sparknotes-- it spoils the ending and everything.

I read it in 4th grade and I loved it. But.. it isn't a required book for us or anything.

No, my cousin is reading it for freshman summer reading as well. I'm not even sure if she finished. [She started when school let out and has other books to read as well] She says it really bores her, haha, she's pretty far though.

Rofl I did that last year in seventh grade... I liked the book! It is very classic, its like an original drama.. It talks about deceit, jealousy, love, and the power of rich people. it is an excellent book.
