I use a Dell Digital Jukebox 30 gig, got it with 2Yr Ltd. Warranty, 2 yr Technical Support, 2 yr Advance Exchange plus 2 Year CompleteCare Accidental Damage Service, all that for $303. Cant even touch that if you get a iPod.

well if you buy an iPod at circuit city if it messes up and u didnt like damage it or mistreat it you can trade it in for any other item of the same price and that "guarantee" lasts forever

Ya well with the warrentys I got, I could drop or throw it and I would get a new one. After your two years are up it cost 30.00 for another two years. Id rather feel secure than have an iPod just because everyone else has one.

ya like i only know one person bsides me that has one i bought mine cuz i wanted somethin bigger than my iRiver so i could actually operate it but i wouldve actually chosen a dell jukebox but they didnt have them at bestbuy radioshack or circuit city

I personally use the Creative Labs Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra. It has a 40 gig hard drive. It's only about 1/25 times larger than a 20 gig iPod. I got it because I had to buy it with my own money. I'm a bargain buyer so to speak and I found that this was 275 for a 40 gig harddrive versus an iPod's 20 gig for 300 dollars. I also like it because it allows you to build playlists through the MP3 player. Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't you have to build playlists for iPods on the computer? I looked at an iPod and I just didn't like the way it is set up. That's just my opinion though.

To be honest, I think it's a stupid discussion; I find it amusing that you demand that other people justify their purchase of an iPod. Personally, I don't care what anyone else buys; I have no shares in Apple, so their profits from the iPod don't benefit me in the least. I do think the iPod is a great MP3 player, which isn't to say that there aren't other great MP3 players out there, but the iPod is a damn good one: for one thing, it's the only player guaranteed to offer full functionality and support for the Macintosh; it's small, well-designed, and the interface is simple yet elegant; together with iTunes, it offers a lot of great features, such as Smart Playlists, song ratings, contact/calendar manager, and external hard drive functions; and since the beginning, the iPod has been innovative, and set the standard for the MP3 player market.

Sure, other MP3 players are nice, I'm not debating that; I'm just tired of this "people only buy an iPod to be trendy" stuff. There's a reason why it's the most popular MP3 player.


Nope. You can put any song on it, you can have more than one (I think at least five, maybe seven on the new iPods), and when you plug it into your computer, the playlist gets copied into iTunes.

I find the touch wheel on a iPod to be about useless, if you try to go trough your play list OOOPPPPSS I turned the volume down. Plus how you have to turn a iPod off, put it on hold? The iPod lost it buying stars when I used one for the first time. You also pay about two times as much for em than you would a Dell Digital Jukebox or one from Gateway or another large computer company, you pay for that little apple.

you turn it off by putting it to sleep either by selecting tha option from tha main menu or by holding tha play buttonand if you turn it off in the middle of a song when you turn it back on it goes right back to where you were in that song

WoW my mp3 player does that and all I have to do is hold the power button down for 2 seconds and it turns off. hmmm practability maybe.......

my little bro just got an MP3 player for his birthday. I'm all against iPods becuase they will cost you so much freakin money and no one notices that since it's just $1 at a time. I have a friend that has payed over $1000 for stupid freakin songs. I'd much rather have that many songs on CD format than an iPod

No, I have an ipod.

I'm not saying iPods are bad. I was just never really given the time to use one. So I don't really know it's functionality. It is a sleek looking device, and it seems to be smaller than other harddrive based MP3 Players. I don't think it truly matters what everyone else has. Probably the only thing I don't like (now that I know you can make playlists "on the fly") is that you have to use iTunes. Recently I found you can download music from other programs and upload them into iTunes, but that's a whole extra step you have to do. I personally use Napster (I may go to the new Yahoo music store thing unless they plan to keep it where all you can is WMA files), so I still have to pay, but just having an extra program to install would be a pain. I mean, sure I had to install a creative labs program, but I don't have to upload the songs to the program then to the MP3 player. That's probably the only thing I don't like. The touch wheel is a cool idea, but if you want one, why not just get the Creative Labs Zen Touch? It's an MP3 player with a 20gig hard drive and it has a touch bar. I find that easier because in order to scroll through all your artists you just drag your finger down and hold it on the touch screen instead of having to have your finger go around in circles. Once again, I'm not saying iPods are bad, I just haven't really seen them in action.

in iTunes all you have to do is hit update iPod and it transfers all the songs in your library to your iPod and if u use limewire (which i recommend) when you install it you can select to play all music files in iTunes and then as soon as you play them they're added permanently to your library so next time u update ur iPod they're automatically added and when iTunes is installed you can select to have all types of music played there when opened/downloaded i now have kangsta lovin and all of controversy's songs on my iPod (i'm thinkin of deleting kangsta lovin) because when i listened to them from here they played in iTunes AND it charges from your computer when its plugged in AND you can rip and burn CDs with iTunes

h10 is really nice.. i have the 5G red one.. i love it!! well they have the 6G out now so get that one.. =D

What about the 20gb? Is that good?

eh unfortunately no.. first of all, the 20g is HUGE and heavy... its like a huge brick.. and it doenst have the removable battery that the 5G/6G has.. but it does have a slightly bigger screen.. it all depends on how many songs you have.. i dont have that much so 5G is enough for me...

well, it looks quite fine. i'd suggest you get the h320 (if you can find it), or the h340.

the h10 junior looks cool too. 1 gb, tiny.
