I'm a little scared..maybe even paranoid about getting an infection and stuff. Do any of you have any advice you can give me? I also heard that wearing "real" material like...real silver or gold is better. Is that true?

Did you get a normal ear lobe piercing ?

Your piercings will be most vulnerable to infection during the first 2 months after piercing, but if you take proper care of them you should be fine. Try getting them done at a well-known place or something. Where i got mine pierced, they provided cleaning and healing solutions which you have to apply three times a day and all that jazz.

Wearing "real" material doesn't necessarily prevent infections. It depends on the person, since some people have naturally sensitive skin. But silicon (the plastic kind) should be fine for everybody.

blah i got my ears pierced since i was a baby so i dont remember .. but yea some people have "sensitive" skin so they wear real stuff. i dont have sensitive skin so i can wear both :)

Yea when I first got my ears pierced I had to wear sterling silver because I have sensitive skin, I couldn't even wear real gold because I was "allergic" to that too. To clean your ears use a cotton ball and hydrogen peroxide or rubbing alcohol.

ok. so when you got your ears priced, the pericer guy should have given you some cleaner stuff. USE IT. take a cotton swab and dip it into the formula and then swipe it in the front and in the back. i remember when i had first gotten mine periced (6) i enver used it so they got infected and when it came time for me to change them, id scream so loud cause it hurt so much..and then i used it again and it was all good.

lol a guy in my class is like that too ^^..yup gold & silver is better, because most people have a allergic reaction when wearing fake earrings, but it`s ok to wear fake earrings, just take it off before you sleep and take a shower

oo i jus got my 2ed ones periced cuz da 1st time i wa slike 6 months old so i didint noe but i went a couple of weeks ago it was like a shock

youy should wear real jewlery to prevent infections.....but you can wear fake one whenever your ear is healed
