The report button can be found on the left side of the bottom of forum replies. It can be used to report inappropriate posts, which includes: topics and replies containing advertising links, pornographic/other non-PG-13 images or references, spam, and flaming. Press the "Report" link, enter a description of why the post is not appropriate, and then send it. A moderator will see your report in their PM inbox and take care of the situation.
However, the report button is not to be abused. Do not send more than one report per topic. Abuse of the report function may lead to raised warning levels if abuse of the report function does not cease after a warning has been issued.

Member Groups:
What is a mod? What does a mod do?
Mod is short for moderators. Moderators pretty much make sure that createBlog runs smoothly by merging duplicate topics, closing topics that are against the rules, and pinning neccessary topics. Moderators also monitor the members of createBlog, making sure they follow the rules, and warning those who don't.
Where do I find a list of the moderators?
A list of moderators can be found by clicking on "my assistant" and then "the moderating team" in the window that pops up. Or, you could just go here: http://www.createblog.com/forums/index.php...mp;CODE=leaders
What are the different member groups?
Administrator: There are currently three administrators on createBlog: superstitious (Rebecca), libertie (Dani), and karmakiller (Dee). Administrators are crucial to running createBlog. They are the ones that change member status - they are the ones that promote members up to the Official Designer/Member status, and they ultimately decide who is modded when hiring opportunities arise. Administrators have moderating powers in all forums of createBlog. The only way to become an administrator is to be promoted from Head Staff.
Head Staff: There are currently two Head Staff members on createBlog: jaeminnie (Cristy) and The-March-Hare (Thomas). Head Staff also have moderating powers in all forums of createBlog, as well as aiding the admins in the hiring of future moderators. To become a member of Head Staff, you must be promoted from a lower staff group.
Design Staff: There are currently five Design Staff members on createBlog: manny-the-dino (Natalia), Relentless (Sang), Anarchy (Mike), Blaqheartedstar (Amanda), and technicolour (Kristina). They have the ability to approve or reject Blogger/LiveJournal/Xanga/MySpace/CreateBlog layouts and scripts. Design Staff has moderating powers in all design subforums and webmaster forums.
People Staff: There are currently four People Staff members: DoubleJ (JaVonn), paperplane (Nicki), Tung (Tung), and heartquasm ((Melissa. People Staff moderates the community center, welcomes new members, and makes interesting topics. People Staff has moderating powers in only the subforums of the community center.
Mentor: There are currently two mentors on createBlog: brooklyneast05 (JC) and Insurmountable (Holly). Mentors do not have any moderating powers, but they do have access to the backstage forum where createBlog staff share ideas. This is an exclusive member group, because only ex-Admins and ex-Head Staff can be mentors. A mentor's role is to offer advice, counseling, and share their past experiences as a mod in an effort to bring positive things to cB.
Staff Alumni: Anyone who used to be a staff member may apply to be in this group. To do so, reply in this topic.
Official Designer: Anyone who has submitted at least ten unique layouts, twenty default MySpace layouts, or 50 unique graphics (to be judged by an admin) and has had them approved into the createBlog database can apply for the official designer status. Official designers have the same privileges as official members. For more information on how to become one, visit this thread.
Official Member: Anyone who has over 3500 posts and a minimum of 5 posts per day can apply for the official member status. Those who do not meet the 5.0 PPD requirement are eligible if their post count is above 3500. Along with a 75PM storage space upgrade, Official Members have the ability to edit personal topic titles. For more information on how to become one, visit this thread.

About cB:
Who created CreateBlog?
micron did. To read an interview with micron, head over to the createBlog newspaper located in the writing subforum under interests.
When did createBlog first start out?
December 2003.
I've heard about cbstaff.com, but what is it?
createBlog used to be titled Xangans, but xanga decided that the two names were too similar and asked xangans to change. Now, cbstaff.com is used to host the files of moderators while cbimg.com is used to host submission images.
I've seen some people using the cbstaff server for their files. How do I get a cbstaff ftp?
Chances are, those people are either former or current moderators. Only moderators have access to the cbstaff ftp.

Contributing and Layouts:
I would like to contribute to cB! How could I make a layout?
Here is a topic that details how to get started:
Blogger
LiveJournal
MySpace - default
MySpace - DIV
Xanga
How do I submit a layout/graphic to cB?
Just head over here to contribute: http://www.createblog.com/contribute.php
Before submitting a layout, please read this topic. Before submitting a graphic, please read this topic and this topic.
Is there anyway to browse the layouts through categorization?
Of course! Head over this way: http://www.createblog.com/layouts/
I am the designer of or I'm using one of createBlog's layouts. Why aren't the images loading?
The images sometimes do not work because createBlog's image servers goes down. It happens because so many people are using our layouts. All of the images from layouts are hosted on cB's own image servers. Sorry for any inconveniences and please wait for the server to be back up.
How do I access all the layouts, scripts, graphics, and tutorials I've favorited?
Click on your username to go to your public profile and scroll down to the Favorites section.
How do I see how many layouts, scripts, graphics, tutorials, and topsites I've submitted as well as any referrals I've made?

I'm posting, but my post count isn't going up! Why not?!
You were most likely posting in the a forum where replying does not affect your post count. We implemented this system because we felt that replies in these forums were only compliments or complaints, which don't really contribute to the forums. These forums include:
Announcements
Frontstage
Humor
Sandbox.
How do I close delete a topic or poll that I have created or I delete a post I've made?
Only staff members have that sort of power. If you wish to have your topic closed, PM a staff member.

I've been told not to double post, what is that?
Double posting -> Posting twice in a row without any posts in between. Instead of doing that, please just use the [edit] button located near
the top-right corner of all your posts, across from the time and date.

I'm a newbie here, and I've seen a lot of talk about spamming. Now, I obviously know what spamming is, but could someone just tell me what qualifies as a "createBlog.com" spam? Just about everyone's signature has their xanga address in it, so I figured that couldn't be it. So, specificially, what would a spam look like?
Spam would look like this:Uhh, ok.
Cool.
NO!
Eww.
go to my xanga!
Whoa
Nice
Spam is basically anything that does not contribute to the topic at hand. Check the complete definitions for spam here.

So I heard that createBlog sells clothes; where could I see or buy them?

What is a warning/verbal warning and how does the warning system work?
A verbal warning will be issued to a member who breaks a rule/multiple rules, as outlined in the forum rules. The time frame for the punishment will depend on the offence. You can check your warning level and the moderator's comments by clicking the warn percentage underneath your info in any of your posts.

If rules continue to be broken: - Raised Warn Level, active for a minimum of 2 weeks
If after the Warn Level is raised and the the rules are still being broken: - Suspension, duration dependent upon offence
If after two suspensions, rules continue to be broken: - IP ban, duration dependent upon offence.

Hiring:
cB currently does hiring through applications and/or staff nominations. The applications are set up for a week and anyone who feels they are capable of being a moderator can apply. If someone on staff deems you qualified enough and you haven't applied, they can nominate you. The Admins and Head Staff go through every application and nomination and make the final decision on who is hired.
When a hiring session is about to begin there will always be an announcement in the Announcements forum.
