Tom had the only car BECAUSE he replaced the part that needed to be fixed. With the EMP it took out a part of a car and he replaced it. Tom ran and hid and did the right things while the other idiots on the street stood there gawking. Yes, the tennager was ignorant, but the ending was realisitc. I can't say it [the ending] but it is plausible. Get a life dude. OR go read the book.

YESSSS, and the whole thing with robby. that was a bit weird..he was probably all teenagey and angsty..so hes like I WANT TO DIE, or maybe he was just in shock?
i loved it. but i thought it ended too quickly.

robbie was a rebel and wanted to do what HE wanted. i guess he thought that if he was to die, atleast he could die trying to save the world. *shrug*
also, he said that he wanted to SEE what the aliens looked like and wanted to kill them for himself. (since he was so mad about the whole situation)
what upset me the most was how ray's (tom cruise) wife and rachel/robbies mom was UNHARMED, while all the buildings and people surrounding htem in boston were dead. i mean, it was completely unrealistic how they just opened the door and there they were. oh well. i guess they wanted to end the movie on a happy note?

I just saw it today. I thought the special effects were really cool when the aliens started coming out from the ground. That was a cool scene. The rest was okay. Yeah, a lot of the scenes were pretty unrealistic, but overall, it was an enjoyable movie, and I don't care if anyone disagrees with my statement because I just wanted to put my opinion out there.

Dude, I was like WTF! NO SENSE! My dad just went 'HUH?' really loud. That made no sense. The aliens like covered that place all except their town house. It made no sense. I had to scratch my head a couple of times about that one.

I am pretty excited to see it...although I know I'm going to be scared =/
I read the shortened version in school last year (yeah I was supposed to read the book) but it was pretty good..I love that little girl in the movie, she's like my new favorite actoress XD

It's possible that the aliens didn't get to that part of Boston yet. When Ray & Rachel first arrive in Boston, you see that the tripods stopped working on their own, because earth's harmful bacteria started killing the aliens.
Anyway, I saw this movie on Thursday... It was
okay. I didn't think it was
that bad, but my friends all hated it, lol.

i really dont see why people are hating on Tom so much, its kind of wierd to me to hate someone u dont even know who's not THAT bad of an actor.
but anyway, for those of u who think that this movie is just about sfx, aliens shooting people, and explosions are wrong. its about human desparation and despair and what that can do to humanity.
people that say it sucked nit pick on little technicalities of the movie and its little imperfections to make it seem like its soooo horrible. the only wierd parts are:
how robbie still lived and got to boston before anyone. i dont know if he saw those explosions and high tailed his ass back grandmas or what. but robbie still living WAS unrealistic.
but the humans actions in this movie were not exagerated once so ever. take the boat scene for example .... CRAP okay i ll be back tommorrow my dads taking the comp. and i dont feel like retyping this uz ill forget it lol wierd huh sry

I so want to watch it. But I wish it was more of Day after tomorrow than Independence day that Will Smith was in.
But I think it would be a great movie to watch, but I'm not too excited.

they were
all running. didn't you see? they all practically died BUT him--because, well, he's the "great" tom cruise.
they did nothing wrong.
the other lady got in her car ---> POOF! shes dead.
tom got in a car ---> he's alive! and the car works!
and he just happens to be the only person in all of nyc and nj with a car that has a changed battery.

people hate tom cruise because he's a pretentious prick. have you seen his interview on the today show? his total abuse of his celebrity could cause the deaths of many. oh but of course you dont care, since all that matters is if he's a "good" actor or not.
On another note, I saw War of the Worlds (almost called it World of the Wars) .... and it was .... okay. Not one of Spielberg's greatest ..... but I have to admit that it was extremely entertaining for the most part. There are many off-key moments and many things went unexplained at the end ..... like how every electronic device in town is rendered useless yet someone uses a video camera seconds later to videotape the tripods coming out from the ground. Just a horrible plothole.
Plotholes aside, it was enjoyable ..... yet very frustrating. Dakota Fanning was horribly directed and screamed like a banshee throughout the whole movie, Robbie was horrendous, Tom Cruise did a good job with what he was given. The ending was disjointed and sloppy. I wouldn't watch it again.

My god, that movie was good.
The ending was HORRIBLE.
Wtf was up with the microorganisms and the not-being-able-to-adapt thing. Ugh, just.... not good for Hollywood. Realists, yes. Hollywood, no.

Umm... that's how the story goes, sorry to burst your bubble, but it's been like that for some years now. I actually think it's a very creative way to wipe out "the invaders" it was very surprising to me.
It was an awesome movie and a MUST SEE!

I've heard mixed reviews about it..to be honest, I never did think the movie was going to be that great. A lot of my friends saw it and they said it was good, but not up to what they thought everyone expected.
I will wait until it comes out on video.
