i use the gimp. it's a really good program to get if you cant afford photoshop or paint shop pro,because it's free,and has most of the same features as ps and psp..you can even use ps and psp brushes in it if you get a converter.

and i use those office programs for my secret short way, et cetra, and i think that its important to know how to use the programs before you actually start designing. thats what i did, i started with paint, and front page, then i got up to the advanced programs, and it really works, trust me.
