im am confused with those icons on the left of the topics and if ne1 can tell me wut those r i apreciate it

Those are called "avatars"...you have one already...what do you want to know about it? You change it by going to "My Controls" then "Edit avatar settings" What questions do you have about it?

i think they are just like any other user icon.. for other forums, aim, livejournal.. just like a user pic? im actually not quite sure myself..

do you mean ' H ' and a little lock thing and stuff? Yeah I don't know what those things mean either so yeah...

I believe that when there are things in 4 corners, it means you've posted in that area. When there's an H, it means the topic is "hot" or something, and the 8 or B looking thing means someone closed that forum topic. It happened to me a few times. I was angered.
