Recently, I finished reading a book called Flowers For Algernon. It's one of the best books I've ever read! Makes you think...and it made me a LOT more sensitive to...well.......everything.

I read it in 7th grade English... it was one of the only things I read for that class, because I actually enjoyed it. It's also funny in some parts too, like 'I wanna be a gen-ass'...not that it's funny that he didn't know what he was saying, but you get the point, right? @_@

no, the guy..i forget his name now has a surgery so that he'll bcome smart cause his IQ is the amount of a 6 year old or something and hes like..30 or 40. and so after he gets the surgery, he gets smarter daily and these scientists do these experiments. I kinda forgot but i dont think the guy dies..he just gets stupid again later on in the book.

we read the shortened version in class this year (8th) and i didn't like it. it was just... weird. i couldn't get into it because it seemed all broken up. i'll have to read the whole book sometime though, because i don't think the condensed version does it any justice.

I read it in 7th grade for a reading seminar assignment. I remember not liking it with a bunch of other people because of the sex stuff (what do you expect from a bunch of middle school kids?). But it was a very sad book.

Haha, yeah, what a weird coincedence. We're reading Flowers for Algernon for Language Arts and we're on Progress Report .. 11, I believe? Anywho, from what I can tell, it's a really good book so far. I hope Charlie doesn't die like Algernon did though.
He's kind of starting to grow on me.

I read it a while ago. It was okay...but I was in a Literature Circle group with immature boys who kept making fun of Charlie, so it wasn't quite enjoyable.

Oh mann. This is an amazing book. I saw that it was one of the top banned books on some site, and thought it might be interesting, and man. It was great. I can kind of relate to it, in a way. The end is incredibly sad, I agree.

I love that book. It first caught my attention because of the many grammatical errors.

but it actuallly turned out much deeper for me. And apart from reading the book, I also watched the movie, which was all right.
