Should ticket scalping be legal or illegal? In some states it's legal but in others it isn't. Some are trying to get it legalized.
(In case you don't know, ticket scalping is the resale of a ticket purchased for an event, often at a profit.)
Personally, I don't see a problem with it. If the ticket was already purchased previously, then the profit was made for that company. They bought the ticket, it's theirs. So if they're going to sell it for more money, that's their choice.
What do you guys think?

I totally agree with you. If the people issuing the ticket deem it worth a certain amount of money and X number of people are willing to pay that, then, if the tickets are in so high of a demand and someone wants to sell their ticket, it is legally their property and they ought to be able to do with it as they please Burn it, eat it, use it, sell it. Letting the government tell us what we can and can't do with our property is ridiculous, whether it's something as small as a ticket, or as large as our home and land. If the companies issuing the tickets don't like it, then they ought to hike the prices or issue more tickets, otherwise, shut up.

I'm personally against ticket scalping. There is that risk of people scamming you, cheating you, all those things. Plus, who would you trust more? The local Ticketmaster or some 12 year-old punk looking to get a quick buck?

I agree. And I think it's pretty sleazy too. Hard-working people try to buy a ticket but instead some greedy punk buys the maximum limit you are allowed to buy and then you have no choice to pay maybe twice sometimes thrice the real pay. And yea, that risk of cheating, scamming...

You have a point there, but isn't it your fault if you decide to fall for that scam? And what if he's not scamming you at all? It's one's right to resell his own item that he possesses and there's nothing illegal about that unless it's counterfeit. I'm for "ticket scalping". I mean, if you have a ticket to a concert that you paid 95 dollars for and then you suddenly find out that you have an important meeting on that same day, why not resell it to someone else and not let it go to waste?
