Anyway, there's a LOT of people at my school who skate and are punk-y or emo-y that wear converse. Personally, I don't see what's so great about them...I mean, they do look nice, I'll admit, but not so much so that everyone'd want to wear them...is there anything unique or special about them that'd make them this huge fad? I think it's sort of weird how people labeled "skaters" or "emo" tend to wear these a lot...it's just this fad that has no meaning...why does everyone wear converse shoes? e_e

It's just that people who claim to be unique or whatever wear these...and that'd just be conforming...which is what they claim not to do...-_-

I'll admit, I first got them cuz other ppl had them, and I thought they were cool, which they are, but now I'll keep buying them b/c they're sooo comfy!!! And they look funny which I like!

Oh yeah, and plus u can get em in like.... any color/design u can think of!

I think it's gay when scene people wear them.
But when preppy people wear them it's really cute.

some converse i dont like. chucks. i <3 chucks. not only do they look awesome but they are comfy as hell. i dont like the pink ones though. hate pink...ugh. anyways. i honestly think its better if 'preps' didnt wear them. but hey, i have no say in what shoe they wear.

I wear Convers LT C-Chucks. Its all in what the people like, some do it to follow some stupid trend that makes them think their individual, others wear 'em just because they can, like me.

What Rik said basically.... Different people have different tastes.. I really don't like them, but then again.. that's just me. Just like people like those nike shox or whatever.. and I find them sorta ucky. It all depends on your style.

Converse is just a company that makes shoes. I don't think they intended to appeal to these types of people, but once a few people in the "skater" category start picking it up, other people think that's what they're obligated to do too. And they look good, so why not? And you can buy need laces and they look even better. I wear Converse and I've spent like 11 dollars on laces so I can get them just the way I want. It is unique because people always write on them or wear different laces or something like that. And they have different colors and styles too. They're like customizable shoes. Not just "skaters" wear Converse. That's why they have camo Converse and pink and blue and everything.

I used to hang out with all "hardcore(yes i hate that word)" kids, but then i sort of switched friends, and now I hang out with...more of a preppier beach group, but nobody cares, I like the shoes, I still wear mine. Oh yeah chuck taylor was a basketball player, so nobody needs to say its a "punk" thing, cause its really a jocky thing

I wear converse.. And I match them perfectly. I have a pair of royal blue, red and white ones and I wear the nicest lacoste shirt with them... Anyways..

Chucks are nice. But I don't wear them for fad. They cost me 30 bucks plus they matched perfectly..

I'd prefer DCs if I were "Punk, Skater or EEE-MOW"..

I started to wear them a LONG time ago before they even became popular again.
I guess I just liked how they looked.

I only wear them because I they're the only shoes that look good in the color navy.

the skater/punk/emo people arent the only ones that wear them. lots of other people wear them too..preps..urban/hip hop/black kids (like me)

they're really comfortable actually. and they can pretty much go with anything, no matter if you're wearing a skirt or jeans or shorts or whatever.

They match with absolutely everything.

the only converse i would wear would be the new wade countrys cuz dwayne wade is awsum

I the faded pink low-tops I saw at GAP.. I'll go back and get them next time I go shopping.

They're really comfortable.

i <3 my chuck taylors. they're desert camo high tops and i got them for $20. i had 2 pairs before this past school year and i saw some really cute pink low tops at lady foot locker! but they're like $51, but i'll still buy em. [and i can wear a "9," 11 in womens, in chucks if i really try.] i wore them so they would match my outfits.

i love the high-tops. they are so comfortable and you can make them unique. on the website you can customize it in any way.

I agree. That's probably just because I think the whole scene/emo/punk/whatever thing is just so overdone.

Their not a fad because they have been aroung for a LONG LONG LONG time. I have a pair of black ones that are sooo cute and comfy!

I think converse is the most diverse shoe out there, no matter you into, you can get converes to match your personality, I bet marilyn manson have a pair.

Even though I probably fall into the "scene"/"emo" category by how I dress, I don't like converses just to fit into that syle better, or even because they're so popular.

I just LOVE converses. IDK why exactly...they're just classic, a great look IMO. I'm not the kind of person that has 'em in every shape & color, I have one pair- low-top black&white ones. They're sooo incredibly comfy & they go with everything. I personally don't like normal sneakers & such, so yeah. Converses are just awesome :]

I dont know whats great about them and I dont wear them that much.

I used to wear em, but I cant stand wearing them anymore. I have a black pair and a navy pair. Yeah, they do go with almost anything... but I'm not really into the whole "punk" look anymore.

I wear black converses. I only like them cause they pretty much go with everything, and they look nice. Plus, they are pretty comfortable, so pretty much it's my kind of shoe .

I have a pair of like brand new black ones, ive only worn them once or twice...idk whats so great about them

HATE THEM.

I wear them because I like them, especially when they look all dirty and worn-out. I can't stand the look of brand new Chucks. The rubber blinds my eyes.

Um, I don't see how they're grouped with the scene/emo look. I see tons of people wearing them.

They are cheap (around 30$ for a normal pair) and last a VERY, VERY long time if you're using them for casual wear.

Converse is not punk or scene or emo whatever you call it, just secne and emo wear them, converse been out before these stereotypes was out. Man, my parents wear converes, they wasn't called converse then.

over the past five years, i've bought 15 pairs, lol. i don't see them as conforming, they're just tennis shoes, i don't even think about it.
i don't really know why i love them, i just do. i just like the way they look.

I have like 10 pairs of converses. I love converses. Not much people wear them at my school but I love to match them up with my outfits, they are really comfortable.

they're cute, they're not bulky, they go with pretty much everything, there are a lot of different styles and patterns, they're comfortable, and you can change the shoelaces ^_^

I love these shoes my self. I have such a fedish.
They help people if they have flat feet.

i personally wear them kuz i think they are bomb. && think its because alot of 'preppy' people dont wear them. i guess. well not at my school atleast..... o.O
but yeah, some people (most people) just wear them to follow the trend, but end up really liking them.
i mean they come in all the colors of the rainbow, they are really cumfy, && like they are diffrent(well the high tops atleast) like just the style of converse is completely diffrent.


TIP:
i had black, white, && pink converse that my friend gave me as hand-me-downs but i dont like pink, so i got a foam brush and perminent black ink and just painted on the white && pink part & it looks like thats how they were made to be!! i bet you could do that if you got white ink and put food dye or coloring in it. then you could have like the fabric part one color && the plastic part another!! =]]

I love them.
Firstly because there's such a wide range to choose from: Hi tops, the low cut ones, the even higher ones, checkered pattern, metallic, pink green blue..

The list is endless!
And yes, they are quite comfy

Plus I can get them quite cheap, I live near a factory outlet and they've got 'em by the truckload.

and they are longlasting. they don't look too bad wornout, unlike other brands.

but I like the classic adidas as well :P
