I don't really have any friends like that, cuz I figger, at first it might just be a habbit, but if u talk to them about it, and they keep doin, they obviously aren't too interested in what u say, and hence aren't too interested in u, so I figger why try to be their friend?

I have a friend exactly like that! Its literally the same thing, but after she does it she always says..."oh i was listening" its quite annoying, just say...hey im trying to talk to you about something and you dont seem to be listening

Argh I hate when people do that. I was talking to my friend in California one day.. it was like:

me: Hey, I'm not feeling well. My brother took away the car and we might have to move to Indiana.

I ranted and stuff on my Xanga once and my friend confronted me about what I said, so I started to tell her what I was talking about. Then about halfway through my explanation, I realized she wasn't paying attention at all, so I stopped saying as much and she just interrupts me and starts giggling about how she's going to get her ears pierced.
I was going through a really, really rough time, so I really wasn't in the mood for that. Also, since she asked, I thought she might actually care. I guess I was wrong.

Why don't you try listening to your friends, and then commence your topic?
