Anyone listen to rappers from Indie labels like Def Jux, Rhymesayers or Epitaph?
I'm a big fan of Murs, MF Doom (the guy in my avatar), Slug, Mr. Lif, among others.

Woah. Haven't posted here in a while.
Tomorrow I am going to San Francisco to see Say Hi to Your Mom and Nada Surf play. To be honest, I haven't really listened to Say Hi after the release of their latest cd.
I've been looking for "Umbrella" by the Snowmen, and suprisingly google has provided only a little bit of help.
All I know about the Snowmen (and it's not even concrete information) is that the vocalist was a man named Cole Marquis, who was also the vocalist of other bands which included 28th Day and Downsider.
If anyone can find the song (or
any song by Cole, actually), please send it to me via AIM. (sn = oh oh the agony)
xo, Pauline
edit:
William, I have the original version of "Falling Out of Love with You". If you still want it, IM me.
edit:
I found the song. Good God, I think my heart skipped a beat when I saw the link.

I really like The Purple Bottle. I'm in search of the rest of their cd.
Interesting story behind the Drexlers. The middle school orchestra teacher (well, he left the year after us, but anyway) is part of the band, and my friend actually recorded with them as well (guess who that would be, James

). Hm, but so I recommmend.
As for the Go! Team, I've decided I like "The Power is On"
Okayyyy
Styrofoam made a mediocre remix of the Postal Service's "Nothing Better," but did another sing with Ben Gibbard that I like a rather lot. I just downloaded some Crystal Skulls as well.

the new her space holiday cd is so good. i've been listening to a lot of math the band, imogen heap, and thunderbirds are now! lately. also, i read in an interview that daniel radcliffe's favorite bands are stars and we are scientists, which was a pleasant surprise.

WILLIAM!!!
I love We Are Scientists! I don't have the whole thing, but I agree that what I've heard of the new Her Space Holiday was quite good. Same of Imogen Heap. I discovered The Changes last night, and they were pretty good, and Speaker Speaker is fun too. I like the Arctic Monkeys a lot, no matter what James says about them being overrated, and Cat Power and Cocorosie are pretty good too. New Buffalo seems to have potential, but Ihaven't yet decided whether or not I like the new Fiery Furnaces stuff. What Made Milwakee Famous, the Arogants, etc etc. I downloaded a lot more Ted Leo last night, and Stars, too

I actually rather like Arctic Monkeys, I downloaded a bunch of their tracks, but I like "Fake Tales of San Francisco" a ton. I picked up a copy of NME and apparently they're the "it" thing in the UK. They're still damn awesome.
Recently, I've been getting in to Wheat. I think they were on the Elizabethtown soundtrack (did anyone even see that movie?).

i've been too busy with school to discover new bands, but i am getting into the american analog set a lot more. i don't like cocorosie much. and daniel radcliffe actually said his favorite band was the arcade fire... i just too excited because i finally remembered my cb password (took almost a month!) and finally got to post.

ooh, so that's why you hadn't been on! I've actually been doing a lot of new band discovering, because it's a nice way to clear my mind when I'm really stressed out. I've actually only listened to one CocoRosie song, but it was pretty good in a strange way. It's nice that Daniel Radcliffe has good taste, heh.
