^ i don't think you'll like them very much, but here are the links to the mp3s (it was under the "musik" section):
http://loveisthedevil.com/johan/SKWBN%20-%20love.MP3http://www.loveisthedevil.com/johan/trumpe...d%20violins.mp3http://loveisthedevil.com/SKWBN/julsang.mp3and i really love kanye west a lot. i don't know what that has to do with underground, but i thought i'd throw that out there.

Eh I didn't read it all about the hip hop heads but did anyone mention...
-Big Daddy Kane
-Soul Sonic Force
-LL Cool J
-Typical Cats
-Binary Star
-Cage
-Jakki Tha Motamouth
-Blueprint
-Brother Ali
-J-Live
-Insight
???
P.S. Kanye can't rap heh. I'm from the Go I should know he's just iller on production though no doubt.
But I like other music so don't consider me for ignorant!

A Thousand Times Yes is a bit like "a less annoying Mates of State without keyboards"
(I think this is the first time I've contributed to this topic in quite a while, which is sad)
Oh, and William, you were right. I don't like them. I think I decided that after the first 3 seconds of Julsang, and they haven't gotten significantly better. I don't hate Trumpets and Violins, but it's nothing special still

I'm normally not one for hip-hop/rap, but I really really like "Taxi Driver" by Gym Class Heroes. The lyrics are so fun, they integrate all of these band names in there, like The Postal Service, Death Cab for Cutie, and tons others.

i am in love with casiotone for the painfully alone, the broken social scene cd i got from dipika, and the pretty girls make grave cd i got from jordan. the capricorns, compute, despistado, the hidden cameras, and my favorite are also good.

Mates of State-ish band = A Thousand Time Yes. They're not as good, but they're worth a listen. Also try Private Lessons

hi william.
i havent seen you in ages.
anyway. can you post a casiotone link?
tweeak
Oct 3 2005, 05:38 PM
I must go find, then!! I must say, I've been slack on my music hunting, and have mainly just employed mp3 blogs for music searching of bands I'm already familiar with, and will download others if they sound especially attractive. I've fallen very much back in love with Neutral Milk Hotel, though.
And just out of curiosity, why does casiotone for the painfully alone have a biography on cmt.com? does this imply that they're county-esque?
william
Oct 3 2005, 05:46 PM
^no clue why they'd have a profile on their. they're not country, at all.
i could only find some clips:

and i guess the concert is actually on saturday. now i'm really confused.

Does Day At The Fair count as underground? Because... I like them. I don't really think many people know about them. So yeah.
I'm so out of it today. I'll list oodles of other bands later [:

Yes, I wish you could. Alex wants to go, but I can't go with just him, and we have no mutual friends. I got a group for Death Cab, but now that they're sold out, no one knows the NPs. I gave a Katherine a copy, but she hasn't said anythig about it, so I guess she doesn't like it
Oh yeah, and James, the Brunettes for Mates-ish bands, too
iflondonburns
Oct 4 2005, 05:33 PM
I do. Unfortunately they seem to get popular & appear on the sad excuse for a music channel – MTV. I listened to MCR years ago & yeah we know how that turned out. This was when their music was good.
william
Oct 4 2005, 07:00 PM
i like the brunettes. i think they mentioned them in paste or something because i remember listening to them awhile ago.
soulseek is a p2p program. apprentally, it used to be way better than it is now, but i still can find a lot more underground stuff on it compared to limewire.
aaaand this saturday is for sure. i'm excited.

yeah, that's where i found them
mars loves venus is cheesy and bad quality, but catchy and cute
also, I checked out Immaculate Machine because they're on tour with the New Pornographers (I definitely can't go now, damn! Hopefully I can at least go to the AYWS concert...) and I'm pretty impressed. I am quite obsessed with the song "Broken Ship." Destoyer, opening also, sounds SO MUCH like Andrew Newman

It's like if you add Destroer and Immaculate Machine together, you get the New Pornographers. It's a bit eerie.

LUCKYYYYYYYYY I WANT TO GOOOOOOOOOOO. Next Monday. Nami wants to go, but we can't figure out whether or not Katherine likes them...I like all 3 bands a lot, but I would imagine Destroyer would be a lot better live, since the mp3s I have are pretty poor quality

^ *Gloats that I'm going to the concert*. I have say that I like A.C. Newman (Andrew) a ton better than Destroyer and Immaculate Machine. Hes like "grown up" New Pornographers.
tweeak
Oct 10 2005, 02:32 PM
The guy from Destoryer sounds a lot like AC Newman. I like New Pornonographers > AC Newman solo album > Immaculate Machine > Destroyer
I wouldn't actually like Immaculate Machine all that much if it weren't for the song "Broken Ship" which I love
