i got the new pornographer's "twin cinema" album that comes out in august. AMAZING. wub.gif i would definitely recommend downloading it or buying it once it comes out legally
william
^yay for nicki bumping the thread.. i was too lazy to do it.

i've been listening to a good deal of lovedrug, mewithoutyou, and iron & wine recently.

i also ordered two john vanderslice albums and a black heart procession one too... i can IM them to anyone who would like them.
tweeak
yeah, nevermind that my post wasn't entirely relevant whistling.gif

i don't like mewithoutyou much. adore iron & wine, though. i need to get one of their albums
rockstermonkey
^ Iron and Wine are awesome. Bit too mellow for me sometimes though. "Our Endless Numbered Days" is a great album. I always thought that folk is boring, but their stuff is great.
anyone for Washington Social Club? I am obsessed with the song "Simple Sound". I also love Oxford Collapse. I recommend"back in com again".
pyrochick19770
Underground. The only thing I'll listen to. [Besides the Spice Girls] haHa (:
Yea, underground LA bands. That's all I live for. Every week playing in Hollywood.
Hiphop d[-_-]b
lol i listen mostly to underground hiphop and such.

but underground rappers are who i find best of the rap world. like andrea nikatina, messy marv, sally sal, yukmouth and thangs.

i have a lot more but im too lazy to look in my limewire and music files to find any names that dont pop out at me.
gotahemmi55
i found a really small band called "Flying Sasquatch"

they're kinda emo, but i thought they were very good, at a local band showcase in Columbus, Ohio

they might have stuff on Purevolume.com
william
mewithoutyou vocal's kind of annoy me, but oh well.

and as for rap, i actually enjoy andre nickatina.

AHHH DEATH CAB RELEASED THEIR NEW SINGLE!!!!
http://www.myspace.com/deathcabforcutie
tweeak
yeah, sammi showed me that! i want to listen nowwwwwwww! everyone needs to get out of the house (and it would be advisable for james to wake up so i didn't do it with the music)
william
^yeah, i told sammi. are headphones an option?

i'm glad death cab is going waaay mainstream (at least, i think they will with "plans") because they really deserve it, imo.

i can barely find any of gravy train!!!!'s new stuff on limewire hammer.gif.

throb.gif throb.gif I love Handsome Boy Modeling school

also, TV on the Radio
tweeak
i don't really like tv on the radio.

not underground related, but as an aside, have you ever watched large groups of people trying to dance to the postal service? it's hilarious. they played "sleeping in" at the dance, and it was such an ecclectic mix of dances that it made no sense. these two brothers were dancing with these two sisters (nice story to that one, but i won't go into it) but it was amusing because the younger ones were slow dancing and the older ones were attempting to fast dance, but it was just so funny because no one knew what to do.

mm, i found these guys on purevolume last summer. or at least, i think they're guys. i haven't listened to them in forever.

over vacation, i fell in love with (err, kind of re-fell for some of these):
q and not u's "power".
"impossible" by figurine.
"muppet face" by xiu xiu.
"your ex-lover is dead" by stars.
thunderbirds are now!
paste magazine.

also, i read a review on a pedro the lion side project (headphones). it's the same guy, same kind of music (apprentally), but a lot more synth-y. i actually got the cd at the virgin record store and walked to the counter, only to realize that i left my wallet in the hotel room. is anyone here a fan of theirs? i'm downloading some of their songs right now.
blucheri
i'm starting to really like Masta Ace. My friend has been sending me a lot of underground stuff. so...
william
if you ignore what sounds like low production values, excuses for skipping are wonderful.

i'm currentally addicted to zolof the rock and roll destroyer, gratitude, and thunderbirds are now!
tweeak
william!! hug.gif

i don't understand what you mean by "if you ignore what sounds like low production values...are wonderful" huh.gif

i heard about a pedro the lion side project, but i didn't think they were call headphones. i'm probably wrong and we're thinking of the same thing, but yeah

good bands! although stars is really hit or miss.

but oooh! paste!!! i adore that magazine! it's made right nearby, so there was an article in the newspaper aboiut it the other day

i'm really fond of death cab's new song, even though it's very different. i cannot wait until their new cd comes out

i would also like to remind everyone that when the new new pornographers cd comes out, you MUST buy it, because it is absolutely amazing. for this reason, i think they are my favorite band at the moment. it gets good ratings in the magazines (4/5 in paste) but it's even better than they say. i adore it wub.gif

...maybe it's just my speakers, but on the first song, the quality and how the vocals came in didn't seem very smooth. isn't that what they fix in production, or am i crazy? hah.

and every review of twin cinema i've read said it's amazing, but since i'm kind of broke i think i might have to download it illegally ph34r.gif.

Feels like I haven't posted in this thread in a while.

- Terminal
- June
- Blood on the Tracks
- Fighting Jacks (though they aren't all that underground)

Yesterday I had an opportunity to see these bands live. It was pretty awesome, except for the fact that the show ended pretty early because the headlining band, Halifax had cancelled. :(

And here's another band you guys might like:

- Amazing Killowatts

xo, Pauline

I listen to the usual underground artist. Or at least the ones that will be underground pretty soon.

50 Cent
LLoyd Banks
Tony Yayo
Ja Rule
jordanriane
Lately I've been listening to:

- Milemarker
- Challenger
- Pig Destroyer
- Explosions In The Sky (not the best to listen to at work :X)
- Funeral Diner
- As Friends Rust
- Comeback Kid
- Gorilla Biscuits

oh, no, it didn't seem liike particularly good quality to me either, the way you phrasd it just didn't make much sense

either way, you just have to hear it. i've had it since june, since i guess my uncle found it illegally and sent it to me. i fell in love after the first listen. the praiseful articles were right to give it good ratings

Well, I work overnight at Target. I help unload the truck, and push freight (aka stock.) I I work odd hours, sometimes on little to no sleep, so EITS is not music to work with, especially when I'm on the verge of falling asleep whilst standing upwards.

That is why I have Challenger, Comeback Kid, Gorilla Biscuits, and The Locust with me at all times.
tweeak
ah, that makes sense. it's so hard to find the right song in the morning to wake me up after having gotten my usual 3-4 hours of sleep
william
i set my alarm clock on that annoying beep thing, and i recently moved it across the room so i have to get up to shut that annoying thing off. it really works well for me.

i downloaded more holopaw songs. i love them.
