If both people start out virgins and have only had intercouse with each other, how can STDs be contracted? Don't you have to have sex with an infected person? Furthermore, if penetration is never done, how can STDs be contracted? I never understood this.

maybe its just something formed in their body?
well, then how did stds start? they had to start with two virgins who gave it off to eachother right ? or am i wrong. ponder it.
google it.
but i think maybe because its starts in the body with something else and becomes and disease or whatnot that can be sexually transmitted

I agree with ^ An STD probably starts in your body because of bacteria or hormones or something like that. Try looking around gurl.com. I'm not advertising them, it's just a helpful site.

hah i learned this in sex ed!
it can come from the parents, or if you have oral sex (but you claim your a virgin), you can get stds in your mouth

penetration doesnt have to occur in order to contract an std. a person could have aids that was passed down from their parents, but most likely in this case their parents would tell them they have it. You can also contract an std from oral sex. Some people still claim themselves as virgins but engaged in oral sex. Drug use (sharing of needles) can pass deseases as well.

Things like...warts and stuff can pass through mouths too...so if you give a blowjob, from someone who has already had a blowjob beofre...and the first person that gave him one gave it to another guy with an std, that's how you can get it.

Absolutely not. AIDS were contracted through monkeys believe it or not. A STD is not some how created in your body unless your born with it (ie. AIDS) but even then, you won't live long. STDs are spread through virgins by oral sex or blood. Drug use is a common way to get it through using dirty needles.

i think its stupid to claim yourself as a virgin if you have been sexually active in anyway with anyone but yourself. your not a virgin if you've had oral sex or any kind of sex. you should say your a virgin to sexual intercourse or whatever instead of sayin im a virgin, period. unless you really are.
i forgot how the monkeys passed it to the humans...does anyone know how lol?

Some people are carriers. This means that the disease doesn't necessarily affect them (though sometimes it does) but they can give it to other people. Being a carrier is hereditary, you are born with it. And pretty much every STD I can think of is also transmitted by other means, such as blood.

public/dirty toilets. if you don't use seat protectors, haha you are infected with STDs, don't worry. But one exception: you won't get AIDS from dirty toilets but you can get other STDs from those toilets. you don't know how many people would have used that toilet before, in the girls toilet, infected blood and vaginal secretions may be on the toilet and you don't even realize it. those infected blood and secretions would get into your body and get infected that way.

they COULD be passed down by the parents. i am going to tell you guys something i have NEVER told anyone else in my whole life:
both of my parents have herpes. BUT THANKFULLY I DIDN'T GET IT.
but if you have it and want to have a baby don't count on the same outcome my parents got with me. i think there is like a 50/50 chance you could pass herpes onto your child. i am not quite sure of the stastics =/.

'' i forgot how the monkeys passed it to the humans...does anyone know how lol?''
well, HIV was invented by scientists as biological ''testing''. injected it into ppl in america, namely young homosexual males...
all those ''vaccinations'' in africa , which still continue, raise questions also...they didnt seem to vaccinate the people from anything...
well, that's one theory.

Skin to skin contact. Genital herpes and warts are caused by direct skin contact. So make sure you don't touch their genitals or anything.
Also, if your mom has it while she was delivering you, you could have a risk factor of getting a STD.

skin to skin contact can spread stds.
any mixing of bodily fluids.
ex. yr bf preforms oral sex on a girl that has an std. he kisses you. now you have herpes in your mouth, you wont notice it since stds are asymptomatic, meaning its not like when you have the flu that you a fever, and once you get herpes your stuck with it

Most stds are never spread through skin contact. You can hug a person with aids all you want but you'll never get it. Another thing, there is no such thing as having herpes in your mouth. Most of the time it's the other way around- if someone has a cold sore, etc., and has oral sex then the partner can get herpes. Once the parner has herpes, it can then be spread to the one who had the cold sore, etc.
I recommend watching Talk Sex with Sue Johnson which is on every now and then on the oxygen channel (women's channel) because it has a lot of information about this. You can also call in and ask any question.
