Im not sure if this is suppose to be here
Or if theres already a topic on this
Feel free to move/delete
Okay so i was screwing around with my comp trying to remove some stuff..and went into add or remove windows components. i have accidentally removed Accesories and Utilities from my computer, and to install it back i need the Windows XP compact CD. HOWEVER, i dont have that cd because my comp was upgraded to XP in a store for like 50 bucks or so, so i dont possess the CD. Now i need to download the Paint Program back so i can still work on the images that was originally stored in my comp. I cant find it anywhere, and i need the upgraded XP version to open it cause i downloaded the older version, and it still wont let me open my images.
Help?

She needs our help.

Well you could always buy the CD, or illegally download it from the internet. Up to you.

Have you tryed Microsoft's site? I looked on Google, and there were some sites where a person asked the same question (I think, but I didn't click the links.)

http://www.techlearning.com/story/showArti...icleID=209006441 Go to START, SETTINGS, CONTROL PANELS.
2 Click ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS.
3 On the left side of the Window, click ADD/REMOVE WINDOWS COMPONENTS.
4 Under ACCESSORIES AND UTILITIES click details, and deselect Paint. Click OK, NEXT, etc to complete the uninstall process.
5 Repeat these steps but select Paint to reinstall it.

Paint sucks, waste of space if you ask me. Just download some other paint program, that gives you 10 times more things than paint allows you to do.

Jesus, are you a noob.
All those files can be opened with all the other programs that are mentioned. They are programs that are 1191x better than paint, and can open more than one file format. Dur.

She asked for help, not criticism on what programs she uses.

Maybe you should've known what you were doing and not messing around deleting things. :winks:
Buy the cd, I guess. Then if you /accidentaly delete it/ again you'll still have the cd at hand to fix it.

i did something like that once. i deleted drivers or something like that cuz i thought it was virus programs and when i deleted them i couldn't get on the internet and nothing would run properly. so when i restarted my computer ( i have COMPAQ ) it said "SYSTEM RECOVERY" not "SYSTEM RESTORE" ( System Restore takes your computer back to a date when you had it.... it didnt work on mine....) so i PRESSED F10 on the first screen that came up..... it told me to press F10 yours may be different ) and it restored all the files i deleted and it made it like i just got it! but i dont know if you downloaded it from a CD i got my computer already like this

! i hope this helped..... oh it didnt delete my paint pics it saved them some how.
