Okay, so, I've never gotten anything below a B in my life. And now I'm flunking Algebra II with a 66?!

My teacher is giving me an opportunity to write a paper on how we would use the things we learned this year in real, everyday life.

Problem is...... I have no idea how we would even use it in real life.

Any ideas?

(I don't even remember half of the stuff we learned of what it's called, and I don't have my book with me, so sorry I can't give you some of the names of the chapters or anything. Poo. )

Oh, and please don't spam saying you've never had Algebra II. I don't care. Don't give my hopes up, at this point I'm desperate, so don't waste anyone's time. Please and thank you. Sorry to sound rude, but I'm a bit frusterated.

algebra 2 for me was a long time ago.. but from what i can remember.. the SATs had a LOT of WORD problems that were algebra 2 related..

so i would start there.. go through some SAT practice exams.. and crack open ur text book, and do a match..

the only thing i can remember from alebra 2 is how some guys declared once and for all of they were ass guys or boob guys

imaginary numbers= used to make electricity run through wires. (not sure how tho)

let's see... trig i could tell you, but alg 2 only...

ok:

1. calculating maximum profits. you make a system of inequalities, with your max production, your price per unit, etc. the corners that give you the largest values.

2. calculating most anything using systems of equations, inequalities, etc.

^With calculating maximum profits comes calculating minimum prices (and for maximum profits at the same time).

Bussiness people uses math to estimate and caculate how much will they be selling in certain areas that have more populations. How effective if their products and how much they can be able to raise. The use graphs to see how much profits or improving did they sell throughout the years

algebra two contain graphs and equations to help us to solve through possibilities we have.

quadratics! i'm pretty sure algebra II has some quadratics in there, so to add on to that, finding the maximum price the maximum amount of people would purchase for business stuff. elaborate and go mad.

My Algebra 1 (who also teachers an array of other types of math such as Calculus) imitates those who ask him:

STUDENT - "When does this math come to use in the real life?"
MY TEACHER - "THIS IS REAL LIFE."

I mean really, we aren't living imaginary lives or un-real lives while we're in school, are we?

Don't you use the Pythagoreom thereom in Algebra II or graphing? That can be used in certain jobs and stuff, like for construction.
Businesses, scientists and mathmatecians probably use things learned from Algebra II in "real life". Sorry if I'm not helping.

• encryption
• physics
• spaceship/orbital calculations
• car design

it's used in about everything because something always needs to be calculated, whether it's aerodynamics of a jet or the drag of a car..

there is some stuff that is pointless in algebra II such as logs and stuff but i guess u can put them in play somehow...

they make us take assesments at end of each units that make the unit relate to real world so thats pretty cool at our school.

write about how you use logs to find the H+ concentration of acids/bases. that's important right?


ALGEBRA II IS NOT USELESS! relatively useless... yes, but not useless.
