The Tutorial forum should be divided into sub-forums according to their program. ..( i.e PSP into its own sub forum , and etc. ) it would be easier to navigate.

I think the topics should be locked as well, just like xanga scripts. I dunno. Just a thought. Most of the time, it's always," OMG! I NEVER KNEW YOU COULD DO THAT!" Yes, I know some people post on there for questions, but wouldn't it be easy to e-mail the creator or the thread or PM them?

ooo, i like the first idea :) but i don't think they should be locked because its kinda nice to get praise and thanks from people after you've worked hard on a tutorial. kinda like with all the showcases

umm.. no.. because I think there are too many sub-forms already in general of all of cb. i think this is why they're in alphabetical order. it's still easy to figure out.
the topics being closed, no. I dont think that's a good idea. because what if someone needs help? sure, of course you could always PM the tutorial maker, but what if they can't answer their PM? like if they quitted cb because the tutorial was submitted long ago, and they dont ever come on again? or if their e-mail isn't there.. or they dont check their e-mail.

More sub-forums? Ehh...I don't think it's necessary. The tutorials section is nicely organized so the program it applies to is the first word anyway.

And what Toby (spiritedfreak) said about the closing topics thing.

uh why don they state the program used in the tutorial first.. then alphabetise it...

i actuallylike it the way it is without sub forums because its already alphabatized and most people arent haveing trouble with it . i think its a good idea but i dont think its needed.
and locking the tuts is not a good idea because getting praise makes you feel good like heather said and also people need help so instead of making contineous topics on a tutorial you can just post it in teh same topic the tut is in.

The tutorials section is already very organized and I like how the way it is now.

I think tutorials are different from scripts... because it would be easier for other CB members to answer problems and questions in that certain tutorial instead of other places. So, don't close them.

Yep, i thought about it because it suks me to to look back the old post. . it's soo annoying and waste my time.

and if you don't really know the exact name of the program (or if you don't know your alphabet), there's always the search bar.

I think it's annoying when a moderator locks a thread because the person who created it found an answer. It should be left open for those who will have related questions/problems, so they can post it in that thread. Knowing the people here, if someone posts something remotely related to another thread, way too many spam-esque posts are made saying "OMG CHECK THIS THREAD ITS ALREADY BEEN MADE!" Leaving open-ended question threads open would prove useful, and reduce the amount of threads re-made.

It would also be quite nice if someone went through all of the posts, and created one large resource post (for the specific forum) with links to those entries.

Sure, subforums are a bad idea for some of our forums. However, our tutorials forum, could really benefit from a little more organization.

Dividing our tutorial forums into subforums poses several advantages:
1) Better organization
2) Users get an overview of what kind of programs/languages/etc. tutorials are available for
3) Encourages members to submit tutorials for different programs/languages/etc.
4) Easier navigation

Proposed categories:
1) HTML
2) Flash
3) Photoshop/ImageReady
4) Illustrator
5) Paint Shop Pro
6) MS Paint
7) PHP
8) Miscellaneous

As for closing these topics... bad idea.
