6. What do you think makes rock different/sets them apart from other music (Country, Rap, Pop, etc) ? It's not as shallow as the other types of music. Rock artists usually don't spend all of their time talking about their women, cars, and tractors. The artists actuall tak about their feelings and express themselves. You don't usually get that in rap, pop, or country

7. Do you enjoy or would you want to listen to other kinds of music besides rock? I like som country like Allison Krauss and Loretta Lynn. I like bob Marley, (reggae) and I like Outcast and the Black Eyed Peas sometimes.

8. In your opinion, what do you think is the best and worse thing about rock music? I like how it often protests authority whenever said establishment needs taking on. The worst par is Jon bon Jovi. EWWWW!! I hate him.

Cause it's better than rap, hiphop, or any other kind of crap that's mainstream. And rock music is awesome.

Indie rock, I would probably say Death Cab for Cutie, or The Postal Service.

Isnt that the same thing to Question 2? Well, I also like Hellogoodbye. ALL of their songs on their EP are just so wonderful.

Jrock, Indie Rock, Screamo when I'm in the mood for it. And loud, with much drumming.

Man, all of my music is rock, except for 1 or 2 songs, and it's probably not my fault. So, like, all the time.

Cause rock is just, better.

Not really.

Best thing: instruments and just, the music
Worst thing: people stereotype people who listen to rock, as "punk". Damn them.

Yes. If rock didn't exist I would be stuck listening to mainstream crap forever. That's NOT good at all.

1. Why do you like Rock Music? there are so many different types of it...happy, sad, fast, slow... it has the best instrumentals...and it's..just...better...

What do you think makes rock different/sets them apart from other music (Country, Rap, Pop, etc) ? they arent always talking about being a pimp or bling bling.....and when rockers perform...they get way more into it..and they dont have to do some random dance rutine while singing..they can just play the instruments

1. Why do you like Rock Music?
I think it's because the people surrounding me are or were rock lovers. Most of my inspiration are the ones that brought me to like Rock music and I just grew from there - I did listen to rap, hiphop and all that mainstream things but that's changed.

2. What's your favorite rock band?
This a toughy. I think the one that's made the most impact on me is The Postal Service. Though a little different than Death Cab For Cutie - it's made a bigger impact on me than any other band. I think it's because I like their lyrics? I don't know. I like them. I listen to them more than any another band.

3. What do you think is the best rock band of all time?
Let's see .... The Beatles are. They may not be my favorite rock band but The Beatles have become a house hold name. They're just there. They're always with us in every generation.

4. What kind of rock/rock songs do you prefer?
I like unique rock, I think it's called Indie. Haha, I wouldn't know. I like rock ballads when I'm in the mood, I like pop beat rock when I'm in the mood. Depends on the mood.

5. When and how much time do you spend listening?
Music is my life. I listen to music most of the day - it's either playing from my laptop, the radio or from me. I have listened to rock when I was still in my mother! (Honestly! She placed a radio on her belly when I was still in there! :P)

6. What do you think makes rock different/sets them apart from other music (Country, Rap, Pop, etc) ?
I think what sets rock from others are the different timbre, moods, tones of voice, ways of how the lyrics are being sung, etc. It depends on all musical factors actually ... but personally, a lot of rock music can relate to you - and I think not many music genres hold that title.

7. Do you enjoy or would you want to listen to other kinds of music besides rock?
I enjoy listening to Jazz. Drum sets that rock bands use were invented for a jazz orchestra - jazz is cool. It's the commin ground to me and my parents.

8. In your opinion, what do you think is the best and worse thing about rock music?
Best thing: lyrics.
Worst thing: a lot of people consider some acoustic rock - country, but that's not true.

1. Why do you like Rock Music? All kinds. Indie, Emo, Acoustic, Ska, Powerpop-ish, Alternative, Metal... the works.

2. What's your favorite rock band? So many. Bright Eyes, From First To Last, Relient K, Senses Fail, Saosin, Taking Back Sunday, Brand New, Daphne Loves Derby. The list goes on.

Worst - they're overadvertised on MTV and little dumb kids go crazy over them because they saw their video and they think they're hot or something. They aren't appreciated for the music.

1. Why do you like Rock Music? Because most of it isn't mainstream, and the lyrics are meaningful and aren't all about sex drugs and alcohol.

1. Why do you like Rock Music?
I like rock music because rock music is versatile. If I'm having a rough day, I'll listen to something brutal. If I'm mellow, I'll listen to something relaxing. Other genres of music aren't as versatile as rock music. Rock, in it's many forms, can convey many emotions and experiences.

2. What's your favorite rock band?
Do I have to pick just one??? I can't do it. I guess if I limit myself to mainstream rock, I can pick just one. And that band is: System Of A Down.

3. What do you think is the best rock band of all time?
That's tough. I'm gonna go with The Rolling Stones on that one, because they're one of my all time faves.

4. What kind of rock/rock songs do you prefer?
The type of music I prefer usually depends on my mood. Overall, I prefer industrial music and harder, faster types of rock music. I'm a sucker for a good beat and crunchy riffs.

5. When and how much time do you spend listening?
I listen to music everyday, as often as I can.

6. What do you think makes rock different/sets them apart from other music (Country, Rap, Pop, etc) ?
Rock is more versatile and more complex, in my opinion. Pop is disposable and changes to fit trends. Rap is hard for me to relate to, because the topics covered in most rap music are not part of my culture. Country music is just a perversion of blues music that I will not embrace.

7. Do you enjoy or would you want to listen to other kinds of music besides rock?
My favorite genre of music is industrial music, because I love the beats, riffs and stylings. I also tend to relate to the topics they cover in industrial music as well. I do listen to some indie rock music, such as Radiohead, The Postal Service, Namelessnumberheadman, and Tori Amos. I guess I really don't listen to much music that isn't rock...

It's very important to me. I write for a fanzine, run a music site on Xanga, belong to a mix trading club, and play with synthesizers. I collect CDs and vinyls. My boyfriend plays in a band. I write songs. I go to lots of concerts....Music is more or less, my life.
