Paradox of Life
Should the coins and dollars be changed to more recent presidents? Do you think it's about time to update our currency to the modern times? To represent someone different for a change rather than the same faces that have been on each quarter, dime and nickel? Or should we keep them the same as a representation of the past? What do you think?

I really couldn't care less. Money is money no matter who's on it. ermm.gif

^agree. they will still worth the same.

that's where you're wrong. if a design is very attractive, people will tend to hold onto the currency, thus causing deflation.

the state quarters came out because the government wanted people to start collecting coins more, making the value of money go up.

in that case, they should put some pop star on the twenty.

anyways; just because they're dead doesn't mean they weren't presidents. the coins/dollars should remain.

Our currency is more or less a symbolism of our country and our heritage as Americans. You put who you're proud of on your money. If we reprinted 1 dollar bills with George Bush on them, it would truly be, "All About the Benjamins."
Paradox of Life
The representations of the present could be representations of the past to the future (that makes sense?). The faces have been the same for a long time and people have taken their messages for granted now. If there was a change, do you think people will respect the new faces? Being the president of an important and difficult position. If you want to honor someone that has worked so hard to keep the country together, what better way to do this than put it on something that someone sees every day? And values? Do you think it's about time we should let some rather ignored presidents get their share of time on the US currency?
Do you even care? o_O;

if we changed the faces on the cins or bills; i think somene might get confused and think its worth otherwise. And they have been updating the coins and bills; jsut not the faces. Maybe the goverment is laready on planning on doing so just not yet. They have been changing the looks of the 20's and 50's and some of the coins.

saying "well, maybe my freind mr. kenedy can change your mind" just doesn't have the ring of 'mr. jackson' or 'mr. benjamin'

for this reason, no faces should change.

Now that you ask whether or not I don't care; I can honestly say that I don't. rolleyes.gif

Does our necessary evil really need a face? Whatever the case, as long as we can prolong inflation until the next fiscal year, I'm coo with it.

of course not. the presidents on our money are the most IMPORTANT and well-known ones from history ... they should always be on the coins and dollars no matter what.

ben franklin and alexander hamilton weren't presidents.

i would said .. coins w/ old faces would be better than the new faces because they are recent people who hate recent president. Why would recent people hate very very old president like .. George washington ? i cant explain but if you think about it . its common sense. there will be more conflicts to the president faces . its better to leave the old face alone.
toodlepops.
It's a waste of money. I doubt people care who'se on the coin.
