my fav j-pop singer is Utada Hikaru next to Shinohara Tomoe----she's was a young pop star from the early 90's. Sung songs like the 2nd theme of Kodocha, cute voice and all.

When I first started to get into jpop, I was first listening to Ayumi Hamasaki, shes, to me, is one of the best jpop singers out there. Her along with Utada Hikaru.
I listen to alot of mainstream jpop cause I'm not that ethusatistic enough to search for anything else.
But if you were talking about jrock, then that'd be more my cup of tea.
Lately I've ditched jpop for the more deeper, harder sound of jrock.
Alot of jpop singers these days are getting pretty annoying(all high pictched and and nothing but catchy tunes) and 'brittney-look-a-like'-ish.
But I stay faithful to Ayu and Hikki.

Lena Park? She's a korean kPop singer who's gonna have a Japanese Single in Japan called

I dont know why some people confuse Jpop with Jrock
Penicillin = Jrock
HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR = Jrock
Dir En Grey = Are you kidding?? Absolutely Jrock
L'arc En ciel = Actually L'arc en ciel's in the border line of both Jrock and Jpop
