i would tell you not to worry about it because this has been happeneing to me for years...but that's me. i've noticed my hair losing a few strands every now and then when i was in 5th grade, but there's no difference between my hair and other peoples' i'm not bald or even close to it, i still have a nice head of hair and i'm in 11th grade now.
i used to freak out because of that movie "the craft" when that blond swimmer girl's hair fell out in clumps...whenever i wash my hair a lot more hair comes out but not clumps...that still kind of scares me though
if you're really that worried go to the doctor or a hair specialist (if they exist)

it could just be that you're going through a lot of stress. it's not unusual for this to happen.

youre probably experiencing a little hair breakage. It happens when you over process or damage your hair. Do you use any chemicals? if you do (like color or perms) then that could be the cause. Also it could be from too much heat damage. You said you straighten your hair, you may not be properly conditioning it first, and you may be using too high of a heat setting. Try laying off the heat for a week or two, and really deep condition your hair. It can also happen from over shampooing. But whatever it is, it damage, and it will keep happening if you dont change something. Try the garnier fructis 3 step system, it has a shampoo, conditioner, and a deep conditioner. Its great for strengthening hair. It helped me get mine to stop falling out cuz I overprocessed it. I got it dyed like 3 months in a row. Lots of bad things.

It could the products you’re usingon your hair, your skin might be having a reaction to shampoo, hair color so just watch out for those, or it could nothing so don’t worry and don’t stress over it.
Stress can also do it to you and also if your body has gone into shock. But if you find you have been under stress lately try to find ways of calming yourself down and relax.

But losing half when washing or brushing is normal.

It could be because of the shampoo and your conditioner...it might have too much products that could damage your hair, the way you comb your hair, or the way you keep it. I think this happens to many....well...me anyway....just don't worry too much about it....you might even lose more hair.

my hair falls out too, but usually it's about 2 or 3 strands. but i have really thick hair so it doesnt matter. it could be your conditioner/shampoo... iread on this other forum that some shampoos/conditioners make your hair fall out. i forget which ones though.

Yeah I lose a lot of hair too. Over processing your hair is pretty bad. I don't know why my hair falls out though but it falls out in alot of strands.

It could be the sun too. If your hair is in the sun for a long time your hair gets weak and breaks off easily. Try spray or appling a light amount of UV serum or UV hair spary. Dont put to much you might cause build-up.

Do you have an eating disoder ? That could be why...
Otherwise, I really have no idea what else could cause it.

Hmm.. What kind of shampoo do you use?
I doubt it's because of straightening your hair because a lot of girls do that and to my knoledge, it doesn't make their hair fall out.
Also, it could have to do with having an unhealthy diet or not getting enough protein.

I straighten my hair everyday & get it colored about every other month and my hair isn't falling out...so it's probably either stress, your shampoo, or you're just balding early.

I'm not sure if this will work on someone as young as you, but my mom used pregnancy vitamins. She said her hair didn't fall out as much, and it gets less and less. The pregnancy vitamins have extra vitamins that help that, so... Yeah, it might be the shampoo. I know Victoria's Secret is not good for your hair, as tempting the smell is.
Btw, you're so skinny and pretty!!! ^^ Crap, are you a model?!!?
