I'm not the only person that feels strongly about this shit either-- I'm just apparently one of the few that has the balls to speak up about it. I don't care how high up and prestigious Jusun/Kim Sr./Roxanne are. I want to know why someone with posts like hers was modded.

I've also heard that she was modded twice before (a rumor which I have doubts about, but whatever) and stepped down or was kicked off because she wasn't active enough. Does someone like that really deserve to be part of staff?

I think as part of the forum, I have the right to know why someone was modded. I deserve to know-- after all, without the community, what is this forum? Nothing. Exactly.

Why are you guys so quick to assume that there's some sort of conspiracy and that we've chosen friends over more qualified applicants? How could any of you possibly make that assumption without taking part in the process yourself? I'm a bit disappointed that some of you, rather than contacting one of the admins about your concerns or discussing it amongst yourselves in private, chose to publicly state your disagreements and humiliate our new staff members. Those who were chosen are not at fault, there is no need to embarass them. Please practice some tact and have some consideration for those whose feelings may get hurt.

exactly what is the "process", seriously if this was answered or at least explained I think some people would be quiet about it....

I'm not quite sure if I'm allowed to discuss it publicly since one of the staff rules is to be discreet about what goes on "backstage". I guess I'll just say that each of the 3 of us compile a list, and micron takes these to compile a final list to determine who our final choices are. I've left out the details but if you really want to know, perhaps you should ask one of the admins.

Tho i'm suprised Chrissy or Dahding didn't make it. But there were many members that were exceptionally qualified, so it was a hard decision guys.

To respond to dahdings post...It is politics my dear. It's going to be like that wherever you go, and i really did think they picked pretty good mods, i'm not disappointed.

As for the whole dani thing. sigh, besides being qualified and has been a member since feb 2004, not all her posts have been spam. I was suprised by it, yah...but i'm sure she'll prove herself. And if she doesn't, then i guess you can PM jusun about it. But dani i'm sure you'll do a great job =)

^^^agreed..some you guys seriously need to calm down....give the people you have doubts about a chance to prove themselves, I know I am...seriously you could be completely wrong and if not then there is always the next time hiring comes around to make a difference....with that said I am still curious about the hiring process but I respect that they may not want to desperse that info...I'm not even going to bother pming an admin because if they want to explain then they will.

Wow gosh it looks like lots of people don't want me to be a mod . I was actually quite surprised myself since I really didn't deserve the job. And for those of you who think that they picked friends over people who can do a better job, it's not true. I don't even know any of the mods. I really have no clue at all why they picked me, so please don't think that I was chosen out of popularity, I really do want to help CB improve so please give me a chance. I'll step down though if you all really don't think i deserve to be a mod. Gosh I feel hated. But well thankyou to those who are willing to give me a chance to prove myself.

I guess I'll just be another official member in this place, nothing ever turns good in my ways. This sucks, I got rejected twice; I think it's a sign.
Oh well, I'll just continue living my real life. Semper Fortis.

I think a lot of people in this thread need to read that. They are showing little care for the fact that the new mods are people too, with feelings that probably hurt quite a lot when members post complaining about them not being qualified. At least keep it private people!

Dani (what is your name?) I will be the first to say I am quite please that this cb hiring didnt seem to be a popularity contest. It gives underdogs like me a chance to actually get hired next time. With that said I dont think you should quit because, I see this a test of you being a mod. Take the critisim and move on. You had no control over the reason why they picked you and I dont think that there is a need for you explain yourself. I think alot of us arm up in arms because they wanna know exactly how the hiring process goes seeing how some seem to think they were overqualified i guess. Its like, what more do ya want, ya know? Something Roxy has already mentioned is takening it up with the admins. So do your thing, contribute to cb the best way you know how.

Yes, I agree. And I guess that is why some members are so disappointed because they thought they were a shoe-in. Well, I don't know about the other admins but I was very fair when creating my list of who to accept. It wasn't about who was "popular" or who had the most posts, but who genuinely was striving for the well-being of createblog and who exhibited the qualities of what would make a good mod.


And to Dani, I'm really sorry that you have to go and read these rude comments people have made about you being modded. Don't let it discourage you, go ahead and prove yourself. You should be honored that you've been chosen, not sorry. Again, welcome to the team.
