im writing a poem on graduating for school... any ideas?

this is what i have so far

The time has come for us to say goodbye,
the end is near, of junior high.
Tears fill our eyes as we all embrace,
hoping mascara won’t run down my face.

interest > writing

i think it is good. but it sounds a little bit dramatic for junior high, don't you think?

I think I'll move this to HW bc she's like asking for help..and it's for graduation.

It's nice so far.
Some ideas would be to write about what happened during junior high...good luck on finishing the poem.

that's good write about all the cool things that had happened during your years at JH, that you hope to see everyone again, how that school has changed and how you have grown as a person with everyone, etc. look at the song "graduation (friends forever)" by vitamin c for ideas

really though, too serious for junior high.

i recomend writing in free verse(no rhyming) about the things you did this year, and the things that your school did as a whole.

i'd have a refrain(repeating part) to really drive through with the message. try to go for something powerful and moving. =]

What a nice poem Though, I agree, it is a bit dramatic. But who said it couldn't be, you know? I think you should add things like how junior high affected you. Like, what it taught you-and how you'll bring all the things you learned ( not academically, like, moral-wise) to high school! Also, you don't have to rhyme =] A poem can sound good without rhyming. But it's your choice!

Talk about your favorite memories of the year? Like "I'll never forget blah blah blah." Then something something. Anyways good job so far.

yeah, kinda dramatic.. and probably dont try anything w/ "time to say goodbye" cause you should make it memorable and happy =)

its so good i can never write anything like that in my whole life. oh well yeh graduation from vitamin c is qutie good too. you can listen to it and get some ideas haf fun writing it =)
