Say you are like 16ish and had multiple operations and transplants.... You are tired of it you dont want another operation, you tell your parents that... But your parents don't want to give up on you and forces you against your will to have the operation... Do you think thats right?

No. Be selfless and think of your parents. What mother or father wants to outlive their kid?

^ let's ignore that for the sake of the topic.

i wouldn't want my kid to have a miserable life. i'd rather let them die happy and peacefully than live unhappily forever.

that's how i feel. if you don't want anymore operations, then that should be your choice. like james said, it is
your body.

I agree. What parents do you know that would give up on their child's life?....especially if they really and truely care about them. Most parents would sacrafice themselves for their child in a heartbeat, it is a parent's intuition, and i for one think it should be.

Wait they can? I woulda heard about it... When was the law passed for it? Oo and say that the medication is giving you all types or painful sideaffects and making you look grotesque, etc...

Yes, I think it's right...because as parents, you will do ANYTHING to keep your child alive. (it's like, parents' nature) Even if you're sick of the operations, wouldn't you rather have a better chance of living rather than just give up and die? Even though you will die peacefully and not suffer while living, you still have to think about your friends and family, who will mourn your death for teh rest of their lives.

I personally think that if you cannot lie without being in a hostpital 80% of the time, then you arent really living. I think if a person is going thru that kind of medical hell, just to keep them alive but alive with continual trips to the hospital, that they should let the 16 year old choose. I mean, I can understand why a parent would want to keep their child alive but at the same time, why make them suffer.

Even though your parents are trying to do something good i really dont think thats right because continuesly going through surgerys and operations is hard stuff and if you really tired of doing that all your life then its your choice .. and like people above said your body your life

still if you know you are going to die think about you parents, who will have to live with this fact for the rest of their lives after your gone...it is extremely heartbreaking. At least they can say they did everything in their power to help you. I would do what my parents wanted just so THEY can have a clear conscience and not feel guilty when i'm gone.
I'm not the one that is going to be suffering for long...but my parents are...so i would put them before myself in this case.

Personally, I don't think its a very good idea to force a person to suffer in order to live.
I wouldn't want anyone to suffer because of that.

im nto really sure because this is sort of liek the terry schiavo (sp) case. Yu do have the right to do what you want and it is your life. But then on the other hand; your parents do want whats best for yu and they do want yu alive.

No. I don't think it's right. Even though you're not legally and adult, I think at sixteen you're old enough to decide for yourself whether you have a pointless life or live it up while you can. Even if it's not for very long.
