AH i agree. KIERA is awesome. I'm in a different time zone as well, but when I'm on at my nighttime - early U.S. time, I see Kiera on fixing stuff, closing spam threads, etc.

jeff, i think you definately have strong mod qualities, but i agreee you have been thin on the ground recently. i mean, i tried to remember alll of the people staff we had less, and you were the one i gcouldn't think of... not that that's th ebe all and end all... but still.

I think they're doing a good job. Though, I'd like to see more active staff members.

Having lives and midterms and homework makes true "activeness" slightly difficult. I just don't do my homework that often... I'm not sure that my activeness (complain all you want, I've a 17PPD... That's fairly active.) is such a great thing. Seriously... Anyone else leaves I will kidnap you and bring you back. Unless you're coming back.

I just wanted to post and mention that Rebecca is off to a great start.

One thing I don't understand about moderators is why they close "dead" threads. I was reading this one where the topic poster didn't even reach a conclusion. If you don't want people replying to them anymore, why not just delete them? I don't see the point in just leaving them there.

We don't close topics that are pushed back a few pages unless they contain something which is against the community guidelines/forum rules. Besides, we keep things here for reference. If we delete topics once the discussion is over, then what's the point in a forum? Why not just use chatboxes instead?


We've just hired new staff members. I think the new mods are very active and doing great.

Cnce again, the point of this topic is to make sure an individual mod can improve on his/her performance here. So, everything's pointless unless you can provide names and other proof (such as a specific topic).

That's not true. I've seen a mod close something after a person posted just because the post before that was from two years ago.

Well in Xanga Help that's what the rule is.
Unless it's the creator of the topic, no one should bump a two year old topic.

Just a little shout out to some people on Design Staff. Winnie has done an excellent job doing her job and being active & that goes for Toya as well.

I think they still need to be a little more lenient. I still see them closing down topics in the longue. Other than that, I think they're doing fine.

I think there needs to be some clarification with the policy in The Lounge. It was never said that mods were going to allow everything; rather, they weren't going to try to "control" discussion as much. If a user still spams or posts something grossly inappropriate, it will likely get shut down. The rule wasn't made so that people could fill up The Lounge with crap that no one wants to read; it was done so conversation would be friendly and more free-flowing.
