Ok, well, my sister is 16 1/2...and WAY mean...like cuss to my parents mean. I don't know if that's not a big deal to you, but it is to our family. Also, she didn't like the car my parents bought for her...just because is wasn't "fancy" enough. Is that selfish? Or typical of a teenage girl?

well not all teenage girls are like that. and the car wasn't fancy enough for her is cause she's being materialistic, but she should be lucky that her parents got her a car

if i curse in front of my parents, i get slapped across the face. and car wise? i won't be getting my car until i can pay for it myself.

She does seem kind of selfish? I mean cursing in front of parents, i mean curse TO, that's bad enough. I would never do that. Psh, my mom would probably literally kill me.

Don't let stereotypical thoughts ruin the way you look at all teenagers. Some actually have a great future ahead of them, and are grateful for what they've been given in life... like me for example!
However, there still remains an amount of teenagers who don't take things as seriously.. not every teenager is as selfish and ungrateful as your sister.

Thats a total brat for you...dude im gonna be getting my license soon and ill get this crappy car...No air condition...theres an oil leak...windows dont really work...the car is a total hoopty...but im not gonna complain...as a teen...if you get somthing that might cost you a crap load of money then you damn sure better like it

well, i guess it`s kinda a typical teenage thing.
but then again, it kinda depends how you were brought up.
if your parents taught you to respect them & the things they give you, then no. they would never do that.
but if your parents taught you that you can get anything you want, that you should & can get anything you want, & that its okay to talk back to them, then i guess its normal.

like everyone else said..not all teenage girls are like that..i was spoiled as a kid so when it came to the car thing..i was exactly like that..but i would NEVER EVER cuss at my parents..i am just really picky//spoiled..i always have been..im 18 now..and i am starting to appreciate things more..

Wow, guys...thanks for all of the quick replies...I'm really glad a lot of you understand. As for punishing...my parents DO ground her...but sometimes she only gets worse.
