Seriously, for the atmosphere alone, there can only be one great festival - glastonbury. I went two years ago and it was so good. They had paul mccartney on last year and the fireworks were meant to be literally orgasmic.

if you go to the disco there you will have to be given headphones to hear the music so the locals dont get bothered by the noise levels

Touche, but I could sit in my room thinking what might of been, and remembering paul mccartney with 'live and let die' last year, the white stripes this year possibly with the guy from the beach boys, and all that MUD, but I could also go back to a place I love and have a good time. Oh God, who am I kidding? There is nothing after Glastonbury! *Runs off crying again*

I tried getting tickets last year. Stayed up all night dammit.
This year they were sold out after 3 hours! 3 hours! Geez.
I might go to Reading Festival instead

^^
pssh reading... pssh... i would feel awkward... its the 'we didnt get into glasto club'
which i suppose is teh point, as i didnt in fact get into glasto
twelveislands
Apr 8 2005, 11:28 AM
Heh yeah. It's the fallback festival for the people who didn't get Glastonbury tickets. Reading's gonna be harder to get tickets for next year though
Since Glastonbury isn't gonna be on
racoons > you
Apr 8 2005, 11:44 AM
^^
yeah i know... it wont be the same... i've never actually managed to get into glasto b4, i tried last year, but the ticketing f**k up put paid to that, and this year i couldnt get them either... i want my first proper festival to be glasto
twelveislands
Apr 8 2005, 11:54 AM
I've never got into a Glastonbury fest either
My mate has though about 3/4 times. Getting tickets are a lame way as well now. Only 2 tickets per call. Yeah, Like most people go in a 2 unless their a couple
I want my first to be Glasto, but I doubt it will be. But I wouldn't mind going to say Reading fest and then going to Glast because then I could say that Glastonbury is the best festival to go to and at least I'll have another festival 'under my belt' for my own proof. Haha

true true... plus music is music... its just atmosphere
at least the ticket limti helps keep the black market down.. there were tickets going for like 1000 pounds last year

Apr 8 2005, 12:10 PM
yeah i know... i mean i really wanna go, but there is no way id pay that much
lol i was reading in nme how one woman tried to buy 3, and ended up getting 300 lmao

yeah i know!
pssh... actually i wasnt THAT crazy about this years line up. i woulda prefered to go last year... hopefully next time will be better... i wouldn't complain tho!
twelveislands
Apr 8 2005, 12:56 PM
Last year and the year before that lineups were pretty good. I think the one before last year had The Darkness playing.. when they weren't big
Kylie Minogue is playing there.. or 'performing' there.. I wouldn't of though that
I think BEP or Outkast was at last years, or I'm mixing that up with another festival
racoons > you
Apr 8 2005, 01:02 PM
OutKast have been rumoured to play the last few years... they never actually have tho
twelveislands
Apr 8 2005, 01:04 PM
Have all the rumours before they sell the tickets so all the outkast fans by some and then after they've been all sold they say Nope, We are not playing. Probably
racoons > you
Apr 8 2005, 01:06 PM
exactly... its not 'cool' to confirm your set... you just turn up if you feel likeit on the day. lol
twelveislands
Apr 8 2005, 01:12 PM
Haha yeah. True. But some of these bands leave it so late
Like theres only just over 2 months and they still haven't got the whole playlist. One year (when I don't have tickets) all the bands should stay unconfirmed then about 1 month before, they all say they're not going to play.
Like to see the organizers sort that one out
racoons > you
Apr 8 2005, 01:16 PM
^^
lol actually that would be quite neat... i bet they'd get a bunch of unknowns to play... show case some new talent!
twelveislands
Apr 8 2005, 01:18 PM
I doubt many people would actually go
Have a surge of glastonbury tickets being sold on Ebay.

Apr 8 2005, 01:19 PM
i dunno...
musicdoesnt have to be 'big name' to be good...
twelveislands
Apr 8 2005, 01:22 PM
I guessed that but quite alot of people buy tickets for the big bands.. while they're doing there saying 'I would still go if bands I didn't even know played there" but if it happened they wouldn't.
