We had to pick a classic book to read for English and being the lazy kid that I am, I picked the shortest one I could find.
Of Mice And Men. It was a pretty good book and easy to read. If anyone else has read it... what did you think of it? I don't know if I got the whole theme and the main idea of it.

help me out?
Thanks!

I really liked it when I read it, but that was almost five years ago now. If you want, rent the movie, it's not bad, and sometimes it helps explain some major points and stuff.

the meaning of the book is that dreams don't always come true and that some things should be kept secret. or something like that.

thanks guys for all the help and opinions. we just wrote our papers on it in class. i htought a lot about the end and it is sad but i think what he did was better for lennie than him having to be killed by curly and all them. at least he was happy the last moments of his life. yeah anyways thanks for all the rsponses guys!

I don't think it was boring... It was actually my most favorite book in high school. The way I took it was Lenny killed the mouse in the part when he was petting it too hard... he never meant to harm him, and ultimately, his caring for it way too much caused him to break its neck.
George cared for Lenny too much.... and ended up killing him out of love (Yeah, what the freak).
Mice.. and men. It's a story of mice and men (Yes, what I'm trying to say is men are mice)
(....But cute ones

I read this book too for English this year. It's quite good, really. The movie is sad and my eyes were watery at the end.
It is short and easy to read, and I can actually finish it. Too bad I failed all of the chapter tests for the class. Those tests are hard!
