just curious, is there anyway i can keep my left module for skinning without hiding it, but simply moving it to a box i made for in on my layout image?

What about the "about me" div.
I have it on my skin but now my blog wants to trail behind it and not go where i orignally positioned it. and yes, the div/ its closed. "</div>"

i don't think you can put just the left side module in that div and then the blog in the other one. never heard of it so far.
