Okay....say I'm making a banner and I want just ONE part of the banner to have "extrude" blocks on it. How would I do that? I don't really get all the layers and stuff, and it doesn't work when I tried it.

Sorry..i'm new to Photoshop. I don't know if this is clear enough either. ermm.gif

ok so i kinda know photoshop...but what is extrude? im confused

extrude? you mean the filter or something.. try just selecting the part where you want it at and yeah.

No no not filters. He meant a part of the banner is blocking the text layer so it doesn't show. right?

Okay, here's what you do:
First, on the layer pallet(the right side of the screen)try looking for something that says "extrude".
Then click and drag it all the way up.

Hope that's what you were talking about.

Thanks, but...I have no idea what you're talking about. Sorry.

It doesn't have to be "extrude," but any of the filters you pick, it effects the WHOLE image. I just want like a corner of it to have the filter effect on it.

Use the (rectangular) marquee to select the area you want extruded and then just extrude it...that should work..
