grr. Okay u just brought back an annoying memory. I had a friend join the swim team one summer. She knew how to swim, as in get from one place to another in water without walking, but she didnt know how to "swim" so they taught her. Swim team was free to join. Well the same summer I wanted to join too. THsi chik was like my best friend back then before she moved away. And I knew how to swim just as well as she did, if not better. I know how to do ur typical swimming one arm after the other technique, I just never put my head in the water like the pros do. bUt my cousin (legal guardian at the time) would not let me join the swim team. Instead she made me take swimming lessons. She said I would drown if I joined the swim team, even tho the swim team actually taught you more than the lessons did. So here I am, a freakin 12 year old, learning how to swim with a bunch of 4 and 5 and 6 year olds. It was really annoying, because all they taought me was how to the the breastroke and the frontstroke thing properly. That was it. Didnt even teach you to go on your back. And you had to pay 5 doallrs a lesson. It was totaly bull crap. I was so mad, cuz it was so embarrassing. So yeah dammit, I learned how to swim. grr.

I didn't learn how to swim until I was around 8. No worries, it is fairly easy to pick up. ^_^
I almost became a lifeguard a few summers ago, but ended up not having enough time.

I learned during the freshman year of my high school. My high school makes you take a swimming test during your orientation. If you fail it, you gotta take swim gym. I thought it'd be embarassing, but it turned out to be pretty fun. I love swimming now, but I haven't swam in years =(

Hi i'm Sarah and i'm 14 years old. I can't swim very well and i still got my inflatable arm floaties, they help me swim and i'm very comfortable with my floaties. Are there any other people using floaties or lifejackets like me??How do you react when you see a girl wearing floatation devices like me?
